LTA - fined $130 for dropping someone off at or near the BUS STOPS

To All Car Owners,

Useful information for you to take note:

LTA has contracted six traffic wardens from a private company at $34,000 a
year to take down the licence platenumber, make and colour of vehicles that
intrude into bus lanes at peak hours. (They are incognito with camera in
hands, so don't expect to see a TP, etc)

Note:- you can get fined $130 for dropping someone off at or near the bus
stop.
LTA has intensified their operations at the following :

(1) Jurong Town Hall Rd
(2) Eunos Link
(3) Orchard Rd
(4) Lorong Chuan
(5) Hougang Ave 3
(6) Upper Serangoon Rd
(7) Upper Thomson Rd
(8) Yishun Ave 2

Additional spots where speed traps were seen:

(1) PIE towards airport near Toa Payoh exit, tripod mounted speed camera at
the pedestrain overhead bridge. 90km/h

(2) PIE towards Jurong near Adam road exit, tripod mounted speed camera
over at Adam Road flyover. 90km/h

(3) Braddell Road after Bishan Junction towards CTE, tripod mounted speed
camera at the pedestrain overhead bridge. 60/kmh

(4) Queensway towards Bukit Merah, tripod mounted speed camera under tree
before Ridout McDonalds.. 60km/h

(5) Spot along Upper Bukit Timah Rd towards Woodlands Rd , tripod mounted
speed camera under tree after a curve turn - 60km/h.

Fine imposed is $170 and 8 demerit points.

Gahhh.. Why liddat

The rule has been around for quite some time already. I was fine twice last year for dropping ppl at Bus Stop... so nowadays.. drop ppl by the road side only. As long as double yellow.

We are living in a FINE country......keke

Just passed by a speed trap along Nicole highway. Lucky was only 3 to 5km/h above limit.

I never knew about the one towards jurong on Adam flyover, i knew there was one at towards farrer on the overhead bridge. Better drive carefully these days, i have no more points left...

They like to sneak attack on drivers, like a bunch of licensed “rubbers"(sound alike) making $$ from public.

Food for thoughts - Public buses speed fast & furious on expressways.... have they ever been fined?

Nicoll Highway has always been a hot spot. Near merdeka bridge there...

2 months back. I drove past a bus stop with new yellow sign on the road and was fine $130.

And last month I was fine $200 for taking in an open packet of cigarettes at Tuas custom. Warning to those playing this Sunday.

they asked u or u declare?

u will past by a declare or nothing to declare sign. I thot it is an open pack so I use the latter.

I'm a victim there thrice, once in Dec 09(got a warning), 2nd in Mar 10 (4pts & $130 fine) & 3rd in May 10(4pts & $130 fine).

The same thing happened to my friend a month ago! normally we bring ciggies in they dont say anything, as long as its one opened pack. Last month they decided to be anal and fined my friend 200. They also saw my 3 sticks and made me pay duty for the full pack ... I'm assuming all this happened at 2nd link?

I can confirm the speed camera at Braddell as I was one of the victim

I can also confirm the upper serangoon bus lane checking as I have seen it a few times

yes 2nd link. On the way to their office I were thinking of some reasons to defend myself. Once inside, 5 men were q-ing in front of me. Same case. So just pay and go. They ask me whether I wanted to keep it but hv to pay $7 tax.

but.... if someone wants our Vote... they should know what to do.... just like parking wardens and TP, seems like more relaxed in & around election... haha.. perhaps they are all called back for meeting during elections..
