| Hi, sorry to steal the thread for a min. May i ask anyone has ever got a scotty from US online store? Is it save and do you really save some $$ doing that or it is better to get in sg? recently got a 2nd hand california monterey. I would say the feedback is awesome.

- Bro.. dun think there's such a thing as the best putter as its a very personal club. What works for others might not work for u.
A fren of mine told me that he feels that scotty putters are overpriced and over-rated, and i kinda agree with him now.
I had a very old Studio Design 1.5 which i had been using since 2000.
After my clubs got stolen. I had a chance to rebuild my set and tried many putters and took me awhile b4 i bot one. Wanted a Scotty but too pricey and didn't seem to find one that i felt comfy with, and i tried almost every scotty model. I personally prefer the del mar shape. Tried the newer and older scotty del mars compared to some other brands like Zen and Odyssey and a YES putter which i liked alot. but too ex. Zen was too ex also. and Odyssey was on sale at golf direct for $129. Scotty was gg for $400+.
Anyway.. told myself dun see price or brand, but see performance. the Odyssey White Ice No.9 was my final choice. I never really did like putters with inserts. But this one just feels awesome to me.
Care to share where did you manage to try all the Scotty putter when you are rebuilding your set?
Bro.. no need to go down personally all the time. Just once will suffice. But get all their numbers and call to check with them occasionally keke. I went to Golf direct, Greenfield @ far east. Joe's @ krata ayer. Pan West. Golf house, MST. u name it. as long as they sell putters. chances are.. there's at least a putting mat for u to try. Basically, i knew wat i wanted. I can't use blade putters nor putters with full offset, so i was looking for a mallet or semi-mallet design with half offset. I am quite anal when choosing a putter. Even when i've decided on a particular model. i would ask to try at least 2 or 3 of the same model. why? grip alignment. 1* open or close will give u very different results. imagine being off by 1* on a long lag putt. even if it was dead straight putt. the ball would end up a few feet away from the hole. People tend to overlook this point. The guys at golf direct know me well cus i went there 4 times b4 i made up my mind. hehe I mentioned how i select my putter in a recent thread. i think "wat putter u use". i have my own putting swing/stroke and am comfortable with it and dun believe in changing my swing/stroke or strength to suit the putter. i will find one that suits me. i.e. see the hole.. my mind will tell my body how much strength i should hit it. i find that this is an instinctive reaction. just like chipping and pitching. its all FEEL. so with the same distance... i picked out my top 2 choices. and hit 5 balls each with the same stroke and same strength. sometimes i dun even turn to look at the cup after i putt. the one that sinks the most putts wins!

No harm in buying online but follow the golden rule of buying from reputable sellers. And, if it's too good to be true, it usually is.

| It's hard to say which model of Scotty is best. It's down to personal preference. Iv had n still have many scottys. I personally like the pro platinum range for the softness, and the more recent models ie studio select onwards for the interchangeable weights. The older models tend to be slightly too light for my liking. The newest models with the deep milling don't feel as soft as the older models
One highly underrated model is the Newport detour. Great soft feel n easy to line up
Anyway my top 3 / 4 are as follows: 1. Pro platinum del mar 2. Studio select Newport 3. Newport detour / Kombi s

| The one with copper insert is one of the softest and a great putter too! | |
