| Truth be told, even the tech world is bordering on disappointment at what Apple has rolled out.
The iPhone 5 has been shoehorned into an iPod to make it thinner. Its increased real estate merely adds a fifth row of icons. Sure it's got a faster processor but doesn't every new smartphone?
Not only does it not add any new party tricks, it takes away maps and you tube while installing their own version, which by the way is not proven to be accepted by the general public. In comparison, both the HTC One and Samsung S III have great new party tricks, and Samsung has now overtaken Apple as No1 in the mobile arena.
Granted, Apple is still ahead with iOS and how seamlessly flawless the iPhone's interface is with its operator, yet so was Nokia once with human engineering, and look how the mighty have fallen...
Has Apple once again lost its rudder with the demise of Steve Jobs?
Apple was the Tiger Woods of the mobile world when the first iPhone launched, absolutely no one could keep up. And how dominant is Tiger Woods now?
Still there will be the fan boys and girls, but I sure hope Apple look down at where Nokia is. They make great product and keep the tech world on its toes, so look down Apple, look down.

not only all that above which Birdman has succinctly described, Apple has now introduced a brand new nano-SIM card, an even tinier subscriber module for GSM, HSPA and LTE networks. Idea is now you hv to dump your earlier micro-SIM card if you've got one. This is called progress! and probably feeds a lot of mouths of Apple's nan-SIM card affiliates....

| By the way, the last party trick Apple released with the iPhone was Siri. Anyone still using it now? They were leaders once, are they followers now? The next new Apple product is the mini iPad. But isn't that like the Samsung Note? Also, is Apple running scared with six guns a-blazing, suing all and sundry for copyright infringement, even Samsung with whom they have had a long standing supply relationship with. Apple has won, but the micro-processor pipeline has been severed. It says a lot too that they are physically stopping the sales of their competitors products, having them withdrawn from sale. Has the Cupertino intellectual property well run dry? Have Apple lost faith in the strength of their own products? Oooooh.... | |

| Think once u r an apple iphone user and being so familiar with its super intuitive interface its going to be hard to be convinced to relearn n use another OS like Android... despite the latest iphone5's shortcoming and Android's accommodation of user needs...
btw does the common Android user always feels a dilemma of having the need to get the most updated version of OS .. is it free like the way iphone dishes out its free OS upgrades via itunes?

| Apple has always been about their ecosystem.
Difficult for competing platforms to match or even catch up.
As for their latest incarnation, nothing to get really excited about.
Nothing radical , design or hardware wise.
But still captivating for everything else it offers.

But still captivating for everything else it offers. Once upon a time there was the Palm PDA and it was the king of its universe. Simple and intuitive to use, Graffiti blew the clunky handwriting recognition software of all others out of the water. But what really set Palm apart was the thousands of apps available, it was almost an ecosystem. But Palm didn't innovate, they had no new party tricks with each model, hardware improvements were incremental. They were even late to the party with a colour screen, sticking to black and white for longer battery life. Palm has now ridden off into the sunset never to return. What of the hordes of developers who were loyal to Palm and always developed apps for the Palm OS first leaving all others as an afterthought? Look to the Apple ecosystem and you recognise many as former Palm app developers. Apple wasn't the first with thousands of apps for its devices, they were the first to refine the app experience into an ecosystem. That ecosystem has been aped by the little green 'bot, and while not there yet, is fast playing catchup. Here's an interesting foot note: The original inventor of the Palm PDA left the company much like Steve Jobs has left Apple, though through happier circumstances. The Palm story very closely mirrors that of Apple, let's pray it doesn't turn out to have the same happily never after ending.

| Iphone 5 is great, just got one, upgraded from iphone 3GS (was also a great smartphone) , 5 is amazingly fast and still hold perfectly in hands, imho Galaxy S3 too big for small hands... Question: Anyone is using a good GPS app on iphone been trying few and always get disapointed. Please share... | |
