So bad.... I had one of the scariest buggy incidents of my life as a passenger at Bintan Lagoon. A friend was driving on the wet fairway to pick me up after I told him not to, he rushed over quickly, picked me up, did a full lock turn with full acceleration. This shot the buggy off the track over the curb into the jungle with a severe slope. I turned to yell at him to step on the brakes. Horror of horrors! There was no driver! He claimed he had been flung out by the centrifugal force. To make matters worse, there was no windscreen, just a huge gaping hole. I had a vision of myself in hospital with broken limbs suspended even as I tried to reach for the brake with my left foot, praying I wouldn't step on the accelerator. The buggy hurtled downslope through the jungle straight for a huge tree, somehow the steering twisted, narrowly missing the trunk. Then another tree loomed right in front of the buggy. I thought really die this time as I braced for impact. Miraculously, the buggy slowed down enough to hit the tree with just a slight thump. I couldn't believe it. Buggy also no damage. It sounds like a really funny story now, but it sure wasn't back then. Luckily no one was injured and the buggy wasn't broken. I just chewed my friend's ear off for such a stupid move, especially for abandoning the buggy. On a minor note, I really can't stand those who drive the buggy off before you sit down properly. It's so jarring on the spine and neck. Also those who drive past tree branches such that it slaps in your face. Grrrr.... | |

| true story....a while back at palm springs at batam...my buddy managed to drive up over this bridge into a pond.... people who have played there should know which one his excuse were as follows 1) buggy was left hand drive so he assumed right hand side was ok also 2) bridge had no curb/walls so we went straight in 3) he was a bit drunk and it was my fault for letting him drink and drive needless to say i gave him a good one after that the only item that remains from this fateful incident 3-4 years ago it my trusty nike dyno driver ..... suspect quite a few of my irons and clubs rusted as a result of this.... the local course marshalled had to be silenced with a pretty sizeable payday. drive safe folks | |

| Caution for buggys on fairways at MBGC but this course has deep bunkers. Serious harm if you ever fall or worst drive in.
