Knowing how the management here works, it's unlikely that any form of petition will have their ears. Just look at the following that I have observed through my 8 months of membership.
1. No sand bottles provided - How do golfers repair divots if it's not provided. 2. Golfers don't bother to rake sand bunkers now that rakes are provided. 3. Buggies in deplorable condition. - I played yesterday morning and changed my buggy twice. The first on Hole 1 Hibiscus course. Buggy went silent again when I just completed 1st nine and would not move just as I was about to turnaround at Bougainvillea. Sometimes I steer left it went right, I steer right it went left. Hold it straight, it start to shake.
Apart from the above on the course, the changing room do really smell and the carpet is due for change seeing how worn out it is.
But then again, since the membership is cheap, I guess we are not expected to make any complaints, even for the improvement of the club. Maybe to management, ideas and suggestions causes money.

| It's a vicious cycle and looks like Poresia is about to die a natural death. I wonder what happened to the famed Japanese management. I keep paying my annual subscription, hoping that things would eventually turn out well. Apparently not. | |

| Bro nientsu,
You know the biggest joke! My free subscription was due only in July 2012. They sent me an invoice for advance subscription early last month asking for money upfront. Due date is 30 days, that means end March 2012. I called their account and told her it's not due until July 2012 and she just laugh about it as if we are fools. She further mentioned I can pay post-dated cheque.

| Next question that was not answered was, is Poresia sitting on borrowed land from Leisure Farm? I wonder if their claim of it being lifetime membership is true? Anyone got any info on this? | |

| Honestly, i don understand where the money goes to. Do you know the club harvest palm oil as well? Why do you think there is a local rule about young palm trees? The thing that really gets on my nerves are those people who drive their buggy on the fairway when its a buggy on track course. They just do not spare a thought about others.
Having sai that, in terms of amt paid, you cant find any club like that for that price. No regrets. know the people there, and they know me.

That's where the danger lies. It means no insurance coverage in the event of "accident" from 3rd party.
BTW, anyone know can a golfer without handicap or PC buy golf insurance?

BTW, anyone know can a golfer without handicap or PC buy golf insurance? If i'm not wrong, most of the JB clubs include insurance in the green fee. But whether a golfer w/o PC/ hdcp can buy insurance, need to check with the insurance agent.

Including Poresia? I am not sure. If Poresia did not include the insurance, I shudder at the thought because there are so many Japanese and Korean guests on weekends mornings that I overheard a few do not have Hcp cards or PC.

| TDO, Poresia used to be a buggy-on-track golf course till they opened it up to a group of young Korean golfers last year. This group was there for a few months supposedly undergoing training before turning Pro. The special arrangement was then made to allow buggy on course. Initially I didn't know about it till I complained to the club and since then, many members started driving it onto the course. I do it too but always try to do a 90* whenever possible, and I also try and avoid soggy ground.
With regard to payment, Poresia financial year starts April which is why they auto invoice all members 2-3 months before end March. Even though your membership expires in Aug, they will still invoice and pro-rate to align the payment cycle.

| nutty88,
You mean it's official that buggy is allowed on the course? I just went to Poresia office at Liat Tower this morning to collect my New Card and asked Nur about this buggy issue. Her reply was buggy is not allowed on the course and said she will talk to her boss Hashimoto.
BTW, I am waiting in anticipation to have a round with you one of these weekends.
Cheers! | |

Cheers! Bro, it is unofficial but a common sight nowadays at Poresia. Everybody seems to think it is an unwritten rule. The mashalls just can't be bothered to enforce it and it is no use bringing it up to the management. I have once seen folks parked the buggies just next to the greens!!! Ya, have been wanting to play with you but I can only play Sunday afternoon leh.

| The Japanese Manager (Owners son) has returned to Japan some time ago, if he's around he will instruct Marshall to inform Golfers buggy on track he was very strict about it, since left, no one bother, btw most golf club in JB allow buggy on fairway.
Understand Poresia golf resort recently sold to a new company, if they increase annual subscription fee and buggy fee, our regular group will be quiting, as you know its troublesome to travel far just to play golf. That's why alot of golfers gave up their golf membership in JB, at th e peak ppl were crazy enough to pay ten of thousands just to join as golf member, today if you want to sell off your membership at a price, very diffcult even if you give FOC, I was offered Palm Resort by my fren and I declined. So don't even think of selling to a new member, is golf declining so much that I don't see most of the regular kakis anymore, very sad indeed!!
