I too suffered from trigger finger on left hand last finger. Wasn't too bad, more of an irritation than pain. Did abit of reading up on it and found it could be caused by a few things, among them gripping too hard, adopting a 'strong' left hand grip position on the grip or simply too frequent trips to the range. Anyway, I laid off going to the range for a couple weeks (actually was busy with other things but just nice tongue ) and that seemed to get rid of it.

I think technique is also very important. I always used to fade the ball, which is due to an open clubface on impact. On of the remedies I saw online was to adopt a 'strong' LH grip position, ie twist your left hand more to the right on address. That seemed to work and ball flight was more in the middle now, but as a result I think I started to get trigger finger, which never seemed to be an issue previously. I also changed from graphite to steel shafts around the same time so that might have been a contributing factor.

Do try to do something about it now before surgery becomes the only option! The surgery itself is not very invasive (I think you can find videos on youtube) but it apparently hurts like hell and you'll be out of action for a couple weeks. (which incidentally might cure your trigger finger anyway Neutral )

Ask for Christina Neo - A small-sized woman but strong as hell. Tell her Rex recommended you through the golf forum. She will also teach you some golf-related strength training and stretching exercises too.

Very knowledgeable lady.

She's also my coach's GF so you can talk golf to her during treatment. Smile

HI S70B, Thanks for the info. I have been suffering from left golf elbow since Feb this year and went for a cortisone jab in April. Lasted only 4 months and pain returns. Taking nsaids occassionally to ease the pain but pain returns once I stop taking the nsaids. Even though I rested from golf for 3 to 4 weeks in a row th epain persisted. Do you mind telling me hows the charges like for seeing a physio like your friend Christine and how long did it take yours to recover? Thanks and much appreciated. Very Happy

I totally with bro weesern. I had left elbow joints pains n a fren had the same "trigger" finer as well as last finger pain. We went to see some specialist n he managed to get rid of the pain. Infacr, felt so good after the sessions. However, b'cos we continually play golf n injuring ourselves unnoticed, the pain came back.

Ok, back to bro weesern' FOC method. I do not know how to put into writings here. But after doing those sets of stretches n exercises, i do not feel any more pain on my left elbow liao. It's like totally gone. It is so easy to forget doing those stretches, but i persisted n did them ALMOST everyday, it really got rid of my pain..............

ok, how to explaining in writing.........hrmmmmm.... pai seh......maybe somebody can take video clips n post in here ? hee hee Twisted Evil

local distributor is L.D. Watson Pte Ltd.

Have bot a pair and after more than a week of wearing at night sad to say that I don't feel any difference at all. I think I paid over $50 dollars for it when there is no discount. You can get below $50 only when there is a promotion of a 20% discount. Hope this helps.

Until recently i had been having problems with my elbows and trigger finger. What solves it... A good traditional chinese massage in Gelang patah for rm120 1.5 hrs. The chinese lady, really gave me one hell of back massage, rub those nerves and arms. It is a proper massage and no hanky panky stuff. Located opposite of Petronas petrol station (across the main road)

PostSubject: Re: Golf Injury   Golf Injury - Page 2 I_icon_minitimeSun Oct 25, 2009 9:47 am

I've been having a wrist injusry for years now, even before i started golf. It comes on and off. I've seen a doctor who even referred me to a specialist for joints i think. x-ray and blood test didn't show that i had a stress fracture, gout or arthirits. So the specialist said that it's pseudo arthiritis, meaning i got symptoms but can't detect it to confirm. so i left it at that. What crap right?

Well, this week it came on and I had 2 games lined up that i didn't want to miss so i whacked a whole cocktail of painkillers so i could play these 2 games on consecutive days. that's the dumbest thing to do. during the 2nd game on the back 9, the pain killers wore off and my right hand had swelled quite a bit. I could not cock my wrist thus i couldn't hit the ball. At the end of the game, my hand looked like a pig's trotter. Crying or Very sad

So the next day i decided to seek proper sports medicine and visited Physionique who was also helping me with my golf fitness. Chris(my phsio) quickly identified what the problem was and gave me treatment for it. It was actually tendicitis(dunno if i spelled correctly). No golf for a week now.

So my take on sports related injuries, seek proper help. Your normal family GP can't help you. Go to a physio.
