| Just like to get an idea from the good people out here.....
If you have a family trip (not golf focused), moving around, and will be amongst very nice golf courses, and have a chance to steal a morning to play 1 round. Would you bring your clubs or will you rent?
And if you bring your clubs, will you bring your whole set, or bring a half set, and which clubs will you bring?
And what if your club specifications are non-standard?

| Not unless if I'm looking for an excuse to get out of the marriage... Seriously, guess when we pre-schoolers kids now, bringing golf clubs on family vacation is outta ques for me. But by the time they're teens and can play, then I'll organize family golf trips... That's the plan anyways [code] | |

| I always travel with my golf clubs just in case I have a chance to play. Especially when I just have to leave them in the rental car.
For business trips, I will always try to arrange games with customers, suppliers, or colleagues/local friends. For family trips, I will just bring alone in case I can squeeze in half a day for myself. It's not really a big hassle anyway.
I will only leave my clubs at home when I know for sure that I will not have any time for golf.

| I would imagine it's a suicide for non golfing family. I will only bring if I have express permission from wife and of course I'll bring the kids golf club too Otherwise, no, I won't. | |

| The council has spoken, and I think it is strongly in favor of not bringing any clubs for preservation of harmony, marriage an/or balls. In my case, I have expressed permission (to play, but no discussion about clubs). So I was thinking of bringing bringing a compact 1/2 set with a sunday bag, ie. putter, wedges, 9/7/5 iron and a 2H. Might be good for course management training. Still thinking...... Shanks! | |

| I wouldn't bring my clubs on family trips (unless the family plays golf). Family holidays mean family first... golf's a distant second. | |

| My & wife were on holiday in UK. We were driving around Scotland and drove past quite a few golf courses. My wife saw my face... she actually asked me whether I want to go play or not. She said can drop her off at a nearby town or she go visit nearby farms. I didn't take up that offer, said our time together more important than golf... I think she's just testing me... | |

| If U intend to play golf during your family trip, I think it`s better to carry your golf clubs. I regret not bringing mine. I played badly at Miyako Golf Course in Yamanashi Prefecture yesterday with my old set which i left behind 5 years ago in japan. And then got to borrow driver from fren to tee off. Regret..regret...more regret... | |

Definitely bring your own clubs. Presently on our annual family year-end vacation cum golfing trip in California. Just played TPC Harding Park this morning and 2 days ago at Wente Vineyard in Livermore. My family of 4 golf is just perfect for 1 flight. Bring what's just essential as most courses and straight and long. The extra space allows buying clubs back from the local shops here from Golfsmith, The Golf Mart, Edwin Watts and Roger Dunn found almost in every city. Because to rent a set will cost at least USD$40 per game here. Unless you are playing 1 or 2 games, not particular about brands or conditions of the clubs then it's OK to rent than to carry them around. Having my own car rental, MPV eases ferrying the 4 golf bags plus luggage around. Enjoy your golfing trips.

Good decision Bro, for Two ( 2 ) Good Reasons, One, Family is family. We should know what to manage ... there will always be time for Golf And beside bringing a golf set, whether your back up or your playing set will not be good for your clubs If you put your Golf clubs inside your car trunk. The "Heat" inside your car trunk or luggage compartment is not good for our clubs. My club maker tells me its like a microwave inside your trunk. And the Heat will "loosen" the adhesive glue on our clubs and is not good for our shaft's as well
