| Hello all, Wow!!! So much has transpired since the morning! I apologize for not responding sooner as I was unable to log in due to work. Let me see if we can sort this out and hopefully move on to make this a fun outing for everyone involved. - mloy wrote:

Can the moderators please comment on this issue. Thanks. Mloy, I agree with you that this is not an official or unofficial GR event. It is a get together of golfers who want to play a Sunday morning game. I believe everyone is in agreement that this is so. We are just using GR as a communication platform to gather the folks to coordinate this game. - missmoon wrote:
- Hi All,
Great to see such friendly game btw GR and JB teams. Hope you guys have great fun on 16th Oct.
TFP and Mloy both have made valid points on the Trophy. Let's not do any GR trophy for this match, GR has 2 charity games in June and Dec so let's plan the GR trophy for the coming dec game.
Cheers, Moon As missmoon has written above, "Let's not do any GR trophy for this match" I also agree with her. We are not doing any GR trophy. As the group of golfers has increased in size, myself/Aloyboy/TFP/ZX/ChrisD offered some suggestions to further spice up the game on Sunday. Ideas were thrown around to see how the game can be made more exciting and fun! Since all of us are golfaholics and can relate to Golf's Ryder Cup competition, a few of us felt that it would be fun to experience how it would feel like to play such a format. I believe a lot of us would relish the opportunity to be in a Ryder situation and to lift THE Ryder Cup trophy with teammates cheering behind (and maybe spraying victory champagne into the air!!!!) Wouldn't it be interesting when you can tell your other friends that you actually played a Ryder Cup like game with a bunch of crazy, fun loving golfers? The sense of camaraderie and teamwork to achieve a common goal is something that is rare in the game of golf. The Ryder Cup/President's Cup format are the only team tournament in which golfers play as a team. Why is Sunday such a good opportunity to play such a format? 1) Group big enough to form two teams 2) Walking course, just like the Pros 3) Each team have one thing in common each, which makes the two teams easily distinguishable: SG golfers and JB golfers, just like US vs Europe I would love to be able to play this game because it will be: 1) FUN!!! 2) EXCITING!!! 3) CHANCE TO TEST MY NERVES UNDER PRESSURE 4) BOND MORE WITH MY FRIENDS 5) KNOW MORE FRIENDS WHO SHARE A COMMON INTEREST IN GOLF Whether a Trophy is lifted by the winning team or not, is not that important. However, if the winning team does have a trophy to lift, it will enhance the experience exponentially! As for the 2nd placed team, the members will grow stronger together and work for a common goal as a team. I believe I speak for everybody by saying that all we want to achieve on Sunday is to have fun and have great memories of a great game. I, for one, would love to lift the Ryder Cup. However, if the majority do have issues with having a trophy, then let there be NO trophy. But let's continue with the Ryder Cup format: SG golfers vs JB golfers! I am the captain of the JB golfers, and my teammates entrust me with making the decisions to make this game happen. I will act in their interests and will do whatever it takes to make sure that the game is ON. SG Golfers, I hereby lay down the Ryder Cup challenge to you. Do you accept? Who is your Captain? And can the teammates accept the decisions he/she makes for the team?

| Denmeister, I totally agree with you that this Sunday's game is to meet other golfers and have fun together. Don't get me wrong, I am all game for that.
You may not be aware but we did have something like a Ryder Cup Format played among us, the GRians, its call the Lo Hei Game which was played during this past Chinese New Year. Maybe you should ask ZX about it one of these days when you golf with him. He was also one of the 24 golfers who took part.
The prize for the winners was bragging rights and losers have to keep quiet. It was all for fun. Obviously we knew that it won't happen because at the seafood dinner which was followed after the game that we will all be talking about the game on why or how their game was lost or won.
On a different note. I would like to propose Aloyboy as Captain as he was the one who initiated this game.

Hi Mloy, I would have loved to be a part of the Lo Hei game! And I am sure that the stories must still be circulating until today. Let's all make this sunday's game a story that is as juicy as the Lo Hei story! Great that you have proposed someone to be the voice of the SG team. Hope that your fellow teammates can either show their support for your nominee or propose their alternative captain asap so that I can work with him on the rest of the details.
