| I gamed my new black wedges this week. It was a very wet round and I could literally see my precious wedges rust before my very eyes.
Guess I'll have to carry not only a comb, but also some sword oil in my back pocket from now on.....

| they are lovely in a sense I can now get the backspin easily at Laguna range. I did open it for lob and close it for the down strike and back spin. Haven't really played alot with it, but will do in the coming few days.
just need to replicate on the actuall green and all is set. The only missing part is the 51/53 which I still has not decided on, but I guess it's only a matter of days now since my next game would be next week and I will need a gap wedge for 90-ish meter.

- Hi all members of M.C.A ,I would like to propose we meet up every last friday of the month.
Location tentatively at laguna driving range, but can be changed occasionally. For me I would like to have a game with fellow MCA before the meet -up session each month.
Those keen on this idea, pls put your name down, or if you have better idea, pls suggest.

Good idea... but how abt mid-week? say last wed or thurs of the month?
Miura Salesmen Monthly Medal
I will be there if I can make it. Anyway most Thursdays I'm at Laguna. If possible try not to do it on Wednesday as it will clash with GR SSN. Thanks.

Got Joe from Torque Golf to let me try the demo clubs earlier in Laguna , he passed me the 6iron CB-501 on KBS Tour 90 Stiff . I wasn't sure whats the fuss about this club is all about hence it got me more curious and felt like a kid in a candy store.
I generally hit about 145-150m carry with my mizunos using a 6i and trajectory is mid to high depending on my set up. When I tried the CB-501s... I managed to carry at least an additional 10m with a slightly lower trajectory. Hitting the sweet spot was easier and working the ball takes less work especially when I try to draw the ball.
I guess being able to hit the sweet spot more consistently did help with getting the additonal carry...
Its sweet... very sweet.. but its hard to convince myself when I knew the price they were selling for...
Guess I will just settle for my mizunos for now...

I'm don't bother checking out / testing other brands irons ever since I got my CB501. Saving $$$ in a way...

Begbie, Life is full of choices and compromise. Hardly anything is ideal or perfect. Under your userid, you put your status as... "in search of that repetitive swing." A repeating swing is an ideal, a state of perfection. It demands a high price few are able to meet - 10,000 hours of study and practice, according to someone who studied the subject of world-class masters in any field, and found that they all put in a minimum 10,000 hours (The Outliers - Malcolm Gladwell). A Miura club, on the other hand, does not require 10,000 hours from us. Because Master Katsuhiro Miura has himself put in the 10,000 hours to attain the perfection in artistry, workmanship, and performance. For a measly $xk, he will put perfection in your hands. He only asks that you learn from the club and gain pleasure from it. I can't afford the iconic Ferrari 288 GTO, an Italian artistic perfection. Nor the Porsche 959, another icon, a German technical perfection. But I doubt the owners of these cars can derive much more satisfaction from them than we Miura owners when we flush that perfect, perfect shot. Courtesy of Mr Katsuhiro Miura's 10,000 hours. So, the question is, what price is perfection worth to you?

| I know the feeling. I'm only going down to visit when I want to buy something. Anyway next stop is Y51 wedge for me.
What is stopping you from getting the putter. I really enjoy the KM-350, they felt really good speciall the LE black version (read = Poison)

Cheers, I've actually been looking around for a new putter just for the sake of it but my coronado is serving me well so decided to not to get a new one just for the sake of it. But one day, maybe, who knows.

But one day, maybe, who knows. there was a day i almost made the decision to get KM-350...last minute pull back as SC new port 2 still serving me well... now the cost of putter can be reallocated to shaft change, which definitely means more to my game... good decision...

| In my case, I selected the wedge based on the loft I wanted. 52, 56 and 60. The Y grind looks like it comes in 49, 51 and 53. So I went for the black wedges.
Just starting to understand how to spin these wedges. Remarkable.
Guys, the fastest way to cut strokes from your game is to get a good set of wedges and get to know them as your best friends.
1-chip 1-putt. Sometimes chip-in. If you can reach around the green (just around, no need GIR) most par 4s in 2, almost guaranteed 90 or below.
I am eyeing the raw steel version. Hmmm mmmm....

| There's a magazine lifestyle magazine covering the best things in life that money can buy (as opposed to that which money can't.) Check it out. And check out who they covered. I like this title. Check out the names this article 'subtly' dropped here. | |

| Just to share. I was at Isetan Scotts yesterday. Apparently, Golf ad Leisure has now joined in the golf section of Isetan. Saw the set of Miura blades with C-taper shafts. Very very nice. Very tempted especially they add on a 5% discount and then I can get further Isetan rebates too. Still a little over 2K but I think quite worth it. | |
