I bot my mizzys at GH marina square on the spur of the moment and the salesmen there assured me that the price tag of $1100 was wrong and that he'd just sold 2 sets the day before yesterday (he was on leave the day before) for $990.....so i tried it and went to the cashier to pay...then the manager kbkp (or is it kpkb) that this isn't the price and they had increased the price back to $1100...so just like you i was perfectly fine paying a bit more as it was only an extra $100 (and i've lost a lot more to the the people here on this forum..ha).... but because of the way that the manager was talking to the salesman....not exactly rude but could have been nicer....i had second thoughts

anyway, long story short, they saw the holes in my t-shirt and decided to let me have it for the lower price.....can't say enough nice things about the salesman though..a malay bloke (can't remember his name).... though i initially had my doubts abt him since he kept on recommending the mp58s over the 53s even though i wasn't hitting it well in the cage.....but his enthusisasm and passion won me over.....

The old malay man right? yeah, splendid chap, he spent almost an hour just chatting with me, telling me stories about his experiences on the course. In the end, didnt buy anything cause i wanted to double check with my coach who was in Thailand.. Felt pretty bad for taking up so much of his time, but he just told me its better to check with my coach first, before making any decisions in haste.

That Malay bloke should be uncle Bob.

I think it's hit and miss with GH. I've had both good and bad experiences. All in all, we're the customer. It's our choice whether to buy or not. The only way you can punish bad service is to either tell them off or simply not buy.

It's too bad that PW closed down cause I've always had pretty good service from them.

I thought they are still around when I walked passed their shop in Paragon a week plus ago. Since when they closed down? Which company takes over the distributionship of Callaway?

I have noticed since being over here and going to several shops that the customer service is hit or miss, depending on where you go.

I went to the golf level at Takishimaya to get some shorts during the sale and the girls that were there both times were super nice and helpful. Also the guys that were over by the clubs were engaging, even when I told them I was just checking things out. All in all was pretty good.

Conversely, I have been to both shops at Paragon a couple of times to check out some of the product and have never in my 20 years in golf felt less welcomed. I almost wanted to leave as soon as I arrived it was that bad of a feeling. Shocking to be honest. They will never, ever get a piece of my business, not even a bag of tees.

Continued exposure of poor practices, at least in the states, leads to change and improvements or will cause the business or entity to be in for a rough stretch.

Turbo..think TS only referred to PW outlet at Suntec??

Dan, I feel that GH's Taka's outlet are designed for tourist's off the rack sales. e.g. there is no simulator for club fitting. We can hit balls to a tarp. Tourist sales are generally a one off thing, so there's less incentive for the GH salesmen/women to cultivate relationship for repeat business. That's why I also experience less engaging service compared to GH at marina square.

same with PW at Paragon. They suck. The PW's Suntec guys were better.

Think it all depends on luck .

I bought a pair of MyJoys from Golf House in Takashimaya, and even though they delivered my shoes late (6-7 weeks) instead of 5 weeks, they kept me updated on the shipment regularly and even threw in a free shoe bag because of the inconvenience.

I also got good service at golf hourse in great world city even though I didn't buy anything, I tried hitting 5 drivers for about half an hour and the sales man was polite and patient throughout.

If i didn't get good service, I wouldn't buy from that person, might as well spend it elsewhere.

I ever had some heated arguments with them. Very2 nasty and rude. I only recommend you speak with Stanley and the nice Malay guy there. The rest are just plain CMI.

someone as nice as Dave also can have an argument with him.. really cannot make it..

I visit golf house fairly often to check out shiny club and accessories, but to date, i believe they have only earned $12.50 worth of sales from me. my first pair of mizuno gloves. Smile

everything else seems expensive to me, given that we have Golf direct, Lukewa (closed liao).
