| Just wanted to share my experience at Golf House at Suntec. After the fitting, was all ready to make payment with credit card in hand at cashier. According to the promotion, suppose to get a free mizuno wedge. As only 60deg was available, I had to request salesman to check if other outlets has other options before he do anything (no initiative). Then the salesman who looks 'lost' starts asking his colleagues and this lady manager (I assume she's the most senior there from the way conversation goes). Then the reply was other outlets also runs out of stock. What irks me was (1) the way this lady manager talk to the salesman. She don't look at him when talking, shows 'bo chap' attitude as though he's asking stupid qns. (2) There was no attempt to offer alternatives or explain. If he or she has offered even a packet of tees or explain nicely that they can't do anything because of blah blah blah... I would have just let it go and bought it. The episode let me feels like I should be thankful that they sell me a golf set - 'ai lai mai swa'. Told them thank you and walk off. | |

| Yup... noticed that bout GH Staff as well... The lady at Ngee Ann City also don't even bother to look me in the eye when i was asking the price of the 910 Fairway Wood... In the end, she quoted me the price for the 910 Driver!!!
Sometimes i pity sales staff as they have to stand there for hours and if no customers will be super boring but then when one encounters such service... i wonder to myself... maybe thats why no customers cos of your screwed up service

SERVICE WITH A SMILE its a real pity.. those periods of lull should be used to brush up on product knowledge and follow up of customer orders and etc.. bu ti guess they rather stand around to chat or stone..

| I am not standing on any sides. I have seen the worst kind of customers and had experienced the worst types of customer services in singapore. Perhaps if there are tipping culture like states, then customer services standard can improve in Singapore. Y the focus are always on customer service. I believe you have friends or yourself who had give customer service such a hard time that u would practically cry if the victim is ur child. For the time being, it's still price and product oriented market, just bear with it... However, u can whine if u have been consistently giving tips in Singapore when u experienced a good customer service.
P.S. Giving compliment can be a form as tips as well.
Just my own opinion w/o directing at anyone

| I bot my mizzys at GH marina square on the spur of the moment and the salesmen there assured me that the price tag of $1100 was wrong and that he'd just sold 2 sets the day before yesterday (he was on leave the day before) for $990.....so i tried it and went to the cashier to pay...then the manager kbkp (or is it kpkb) that this isn't the price and they had increased the price back to $1100...so just like you i was perfectly fine paying a bit more as it was only an extra $100 (and i've lost a lot more to the the people here on this forum..ha).... but because of the way that the manager was talking to the salesman....not exactly rude but could have been nicer....i had second thoughts
anyway, long story short, they saw the holes in my t-shirt and decided to let me have it for the lower price.....can't say enough nice things about the salesman though..a malay bloke (can't remember his name).... though i initially had my doubts abt him since he kept on recommending the mp58s over the 53s even though i wasn't hitting it well in the cage.....but his enthusisasm and passion won me over.....
sidebar: people never buy the product.....they always buy the salesperson.......
i've seen much poorer service standards in SG but before condemning s'pore....i've seen even worse standards in aust and the good ole us of a

| Let me add my two cents worth.
My experience was at the Great World City Branch. I was taken by the MP53's and asked if they were available in a graphite shaft option here in Singapore. The salesman told me flat out no. I knew they were offered as a custom option from the website but didn't say so. Just asked if it's possible to order the irons with graphite. To my surprise, the salesman told me in no uncertain terms how many years he's been selling golf clubs and that he should know better (than me). It came across that he was smarter and that I should just listen to him. With an attitude like that, needless to say I just walked out, leaving him to think how smart he is, and to have lost a sale.
What a turn-off. | |

The old malay man right? yeah, splendid chap, he spent almost an hour just chatting with me, telling me stories about his experiences on the course. In the end, didnt buy anything cause i wanted to double check with my coach who was in Thailand.. Felt pretty bad for taking up so much of his time, but he just told me its better to check with my coach first, before making any decisions in haste.

What a turn-off. I don't think they even care if the shop is losing a sale...

Very friendly.. +10. he is also a very good golfer, not just some salesman working in a golf shop. When I buy from GH, I only buy from him or from Jeff/William.

| not sure if they get commission for the sales, they do not seem interested at all... When I was looking for Wilson Staff 8882 putter, I asked the staff in 3 shops and all gave me the same reaction, any question I ask will be a NO. In fact the NO came up even before I finish my question!!
End up writing to the HQ to get the putter... if only the sales staff can serve me the way the lady that corresponded with me via email....
