Newbie: Should I change my existing golf set?

The clubs really tempting la... Hahaha... Likeu said, backside itchy..... Another problem is itchy also dunno which to take... X20/ burner 1.0/ burner 09? Burner 2.0 out of budget.... Still beginner... Dun think will go for the latest model...

Dun be like me leh, spend 399 on beginner set. Then 6 month later, spend another 999 to buy burner 2.0. But that decision came only I confirm my commitment to golf and that's important. Just last week, I went for 9 holes course for three times and range for 2 times. Haha.

Btw what's the diff btw irons- burner 2.0/ 1.0/ superlaunch/ 09 and r9?

I am not sure if there's a 1.0 version. But the obvious upgrade is from burner 09 to burner 2.0. The information is very technical. Really up to you to believe. Cos I'm still a beginner, I did not try the clubs but only read the reviews. If I am not wrong, they have different classification of clubs under maximum improvement club (beginner), game improvement club (Aka GI club in GR forum) and player's club (low hc and pro). Those with cavity technology and wide sole are very forgiving meant for us. I choose the GI one cos I already have a beginner set.

Superlaunch have very wide sole and hence very forgiving and tend to launch very high. Feel shiok for beginner who wants to see their ball take flight. But for more experience player, who have more consistent swing, they like to launch the ball lower so that they can gain more carry distance. Especially out there in a real green golf course with good variety of par 3,4 & 5 s where a lot of distance must be covered to overcome hazards like water and bunkers.

You may want to google to know more info. On the branding, depend on what you prefer. I have tendency to look at brands who have more golf focus business. That's my 1 cent worth of thoughts. The pros of this forum will offer you more through their discussion in the various topic. Do take some time to read, very useful.

If you have the budget and commitment, go for it. I have roughly solve my equipment issue, now it's up to my swing training and gain more experience on the green course.

Wanted to get the burner 09 r flex but sold out. Left with Superlauncher only.... In the end didn't get anything

I kinda regret never order the AW with you but its really smthing i dont need.

When you get it, can let meet try at the range? I wanna see the distance I get and if really meets my gap, I have no choice but to buy lor

Now I have a big distance gap. My PW is 90 meters and my 52deg is 60 meters. I don't know why!?!?

My PW is 45deg and AW is 52 deg. difference cannot be so huge unless it is the flex issue.

Headache leh.

Gray, I think the issue is execution and not much to do with the flex. At your level, there shouldn't be much of an issue with the flex or feel. To be absolutely sure, have you tried other AWs to compare with your own? If the results are consistently the same, then it's definitely not the equipment.

I'm by no means a long hitter, just about below average in distance with an 85mph driver swing speed, and I get on average 100m from my PW, 70m from my SW, and 55m from my lob wedge.

Hope this gives you some gauge for understanding and comparison.

Gray, for 30m difference and assuming it's not the bugger in your mind (i'm pre-empting DGman saying "if you think you can do it, you will do it" here)..then that kind of gap could be because the 52's loft may not be exactly 52 degree. It could be as high as 54 degree. Have you checked their true lofts?

or GW has extra short shaft relative to PW. Std is half inch apart.

PS: Bird, you do NOT have 85mph driver speed. At least 90 hor...

Panji, tested on Trackman oredi. Best I could muster was 86mph and that's after warming up. First few swings only 80mph hor. Thankfully my smash factor is relatively high.

I'll be happy like bird if I can get my swing speed up to 90mph regularly. Can get the ball in the hole for bogeys and the occasional par me happy oredi.

My fellow trainee, your training not complete lah. Once done, you can come down the mountain and hit the Trackman for past 90 kmph.
And the golfing world can only be wary from there on.

Are you setting up differently for PW and 52*?

@ Asahi, new standard of measurement for speed, kmph? Kilometres miles per hour?
Is that twice as fast as kmh and mph? If our shifu can make me do that, this will surely be one happy bird. I also got weight transfer issues, in fact, too many issues, the most obvious is my overswing. Once get past that, I hope to get the same drills you getting for weight transfer. I smaller than you, need all the distance I can muster out of my kitchimite self I can get.

Eh, my game has too many aspects to change lah. Still got driver and long clubs like hybrid.
At least for hybrid, I got some form of answer from other thread which is having different shafts (cpm & flex) for my two hybrid clubs. No wonder I was such a mess.

Finally gotten myself the R9 irons..... Will try at range next week....

Now looking for driver, woods and putter.

reading through this thread jus bring back memories of my own.

been that journey before .... R9 ... R11 ... R13 ..... at the end of day, jus enjoy the game.
