After all the horror stories, I braced myself to play in Keppel this afternoon.

Since the course is either uphill or down, I decided to only use my 7,8,9 iron, wedges, #4 hybrid, driver and putter.

No woods, no #3 hybrids, no long irons... I decided to go with safe and consistent shots...

It was challenging... but i loved every moment of it....

Wanna go there again someday....

Bro, Once or twice a week, I spend a long day at work and end the day with a nine hole. Instead of feeling good after being able to play golf, I go home bad tempered and almost wanting to give up golf.

Before, I thgt it was my equipment and I kept modifying and changing here changing there.

Now, I realise that Keppel cannot be played like the courses in Malaysia or Marina bay. In par 4 and you have 170-180m left to the flag what do you use? 3 wood, 5 wood and cheong to the pin? I have learnt the hard way that I shld use a 7 iron and then a AW or PW to finish it.

Keppel teaches me to tame myself and having done that yesterday, I found my 9 hole score drop by 5 to 8 strokes. It also builds stamina in a golfer when you walk the hilly nine holes. its good for training and thats where I will send my son to learn, train and play next year when he turns 5 years old.

Tee of from 10th. After two holes already 5 over.
Feeling tortured .... Nah

End of the day, had a wonderful time.
Score - mid 80 lo...
3 birdies saved the day.

Happen to see this thread again reminded me that I am going for SSG monthly medal on 16th September to Keppel... Working on my irons nows... Brace yourself!!!!
