| Did a bit of research. Signed up with coach from certain academy at Bishan range. Halfway thru' coach moved to some other range. He was not truthful with us (me and my bro @ work). When tried to arrange lesson, kept telling me cannot but failed to tell me he already moved to new range. Finally, when he told me, I called up school to check. They said cannot do anything for me 'cos fees was paid to coach direct. He merely used the academy name. At new range, 3rd last lesson tried to learn driver but he said no driver for teaching purposes (other clubs he lends us, which was good when we didnt have our own clubs). We used wood instead. He said use wood the same. (is it?? I sotong I don't know) Cut long story short. Been trying to arrange for last lesson cum revision cum video analysis. Really tough. NOW, he tells me no way to do video analysis as new place does not have the equipment. Previously, at the new place ... he was still showing us a software he purchased and said can do video analysis on his newly purchased ipad! (then why now cannot?!?!?) And I said I wanna take my PC, he said no need. DUH~~~~ ARGHHHH..... I am so frustrated. | |

| You shud make an official complaint to your coach, the academy or go to CASE. The academy cannot wash hands off, IMO. Was it a personal contract between you and coach? or between you and the academy (who then assigned the coach to you)?
is the coach under SPGA? if yes, then go to them for help.
This is not the first time I hear complaints about bishan-based coaches. remember a previous thread that become hot also.
can you PM me the name of the coach? Just curious

| Sorry to hear that....
First of all, I was puzzled when cant the academy in Bishan Range do something about it. When you pay the course fee, did you pay directly to the instructor or pay to the academy ?
With my limited knowledge, my best guess is that the course fee should be paid to the academy and it is the academy's responsibility to fulfill the coverage of the full course.
I wonder is there any channel to lodge a complain to some golf association for such lousy professionalism in teaching pro.

| SSN range sessions are full semi-pro coaches who dont charge We straigthen up GB's overswing and now he's playing 80s. The only cost is future losses in games coz the Buayas and the SBs are all there too. | |

| My advice, find golf academy that operate the driving range too. eg, Muru golf academy in warren (where the lefty justin is) or even the toa payoh one where the poh brothers are operating. in this way, if they want to run, then need to run with the driving range. | |

| The academy cannot just say tat the coach take all the money so none of their business. the coach is representing the academy... If one of the student turn pro or won a competition, the academy will wan to claim credit... best to report them | |

then try again. Dude, define proper? What's peanuts and what's not? From what I gathered, the price is about there for 2-1 format of class. I guess it's just my luck to have chosen him.

Someone or some place with credibility? Not just someone who can up and leave the place and you got no recourse. some suggestions have been made. consider them. - golfjoy wrote:

this one i really dun know also. i also do not know how is your selection process. i was perhaps wrong to assume too much. - golfjoy wrote:

Move on. If you don't want to mention names, then don't rant. if you do not share the name here, then how can others benefit. if everything is really true, then you got nothing much to be worried if he confronts you for sliming his name. its all true anyway, right? so why not share his name?

Like I said, did my research on the internet. If I was in GR before that, would have asked forumers for recommendations. I wouldn't signup KNOWING that someone or some place is not credible. You get me? - mUAr_cHEe wrote:

I did not know that it is a MUST to mention names. I will take it aside with those who asked. I do not need your pardon but I just don't have the heart to mention name and kill his livelihood. My rants will stop from now on. Thank you Mister Muah_Chee.

| Seems like Bishan range has quite bad reputation... better avoid the whole range... | |

| I think its always better to have lessons at a range where u can be taught putting, bunker shots as well as short game too. | |

| even better are ranges with green where you can also do pitching e.g. OCC, Warren, Laguna, amongst others. Some only allow chipping on grass | |
