| I HATE GIVING STROKES! Especially to those who play well but refuse to admit it. Buay tahan ah... I can give examples, but i shall hold my peace... But playing for fun or drinks is ok.. | |

| Giving and taking strokes to play on level ground is fine... it will then be up to individual's current performance...
if taking strokes just to make sure one wins, then no point

| ppl give me lots of stokes, just to make me think i got a chance...so far never win but a few times very close, so its a confidence booster and motivation for the weaker player to train harder. also when ppl give u less and less strokes, its a sign u are playing better..another confidence booster for the weaker player. | |

| Its bcoz people bet one on one so strokes are needed to make level playing field.
Hence i like sixes best, more camarederie for social golfers enjoying a day out in the sun.

Giving strokes means "I am good and you are a sucker who will buy me beers? Taking strokes means "I am not good, but at least I make you sweat to earn your beers" That said, this makes "actual" counting of the score and play as it lies promising. Overall, with a good kaki, you will enjoy the game and appreciate the golf rules? Example. I hit the ball on the tee and it lands on a crocodile head. It moves. So how? Another one. I hit the ball on the Tee and it lands in-between the branches on top of a tree, how? ps. for me. I run away if I see a crocodile.. lol ps. I have the answer la, just that sometimes its just an added fun when there are strange scenario.

| So both sides have arguments whether should give or entitled to receive... A question then: Is it fair that a person who score 84 only gives 3-3 to the person who scored 106? | |

Is it fair that a person who score 84 only gives 3-3 to the person who scored 106? It depends. if you know the person, i reckon 24 strokes. this adds pressure to both and its a real challenge for both. I suppose the person taking the 24 strokes will give his all to measure to the fact that it is a fair deal. winning at this point is a group hug. If the person is new, give only after last 9 holes as challenge. Well that's me. beers win or lose. Only no kaki to play enuff. lol

Is it fair that a person who score 84 only gives 3-3 to the person who scored 106? It depends on how the person normally shoot 106. Does he double n triple every other hole or is just prone to the occasional big number? Giving strokes is a way meant to level the competition. If u r taking it just to get into a comfort zone, will u feel shiok winning from the guy who gave u? Unless one has no wish to improve one's game even after playing for a period of time, one shd always take less to challenge himself. Asking for the same ridiculous high number day in day out serves no purpose but to just stagnate one's game. That's why playing w ppl like Mowen is fun. From giving him 4-4 to 3-3 n now level, he has shown vast improvement n which ever way the money goes, it's sure to be a fun clean exciting game.
