- Darren Lim from OAAG showed his class, and experience at his TMCC home course, with a solid 73 gross score. But playing off a +1 handicap, he was hardly near the top of the handicap Stableford ranking with 34 points. Playing out of his skin, and beyond his handicap of 20, Li Jian Xiong from DBS Vickers scored 49 Stableford points from a gross 79 to take top spot in the net category.

It will depend on the individual to key in the correct score in order to have their true hcp. I dun quite believe that suddenly a true 20 hcp can play 79 (somemore in a tournament environment) no matter how many Good shots he may have. That's why honest people with their hcp will never win in this type of tournament.

| 79 and plays as 20 hcper. To me, that is sandbagging big time. The feller is easily a single hcper. | |

| I look up to this guy, I think I will like to know him as he is my idol.
He had shown that anybody who played like around his HCP , can still have hope although very remote, to play really well.
He is a shining example that perseverence pays.

Like that ar... I think many many folks here with single hcpers would start recording mid 90s scores

What's a sandbagger? Aka Buaya? Actually if he is HCP 20 should 80% be playing around 92... Must be his f*&%#@" lucky day... I must give him the benefit of doubt... in any case, if he is a buaya, than winning the challenge also got no pride... only shows he's good at cheating... Cheers

| On a side topic, I heard from one of the participants in Legend's Carlsberg Tournament that were held just recently. The winner according to him, shot 67. He was known to have submitted as a 20hcper. Not sure if this is true. | |

Duval, I am not sure I agree with the statement. Raising thru right channel, I have not known anyone that were willing to point out to organizers that the person announced as winners were in fact buaya and announced a higher hcp. The person would be willing to stand out in the crowd and speak out at the person there and then. Also subjected to insults by the audience for being sore losers.

| Guys.... I think he just had all his stars align. Hence a good score. I also break 80 when I was a high hcpper. I think the bfg team will play better in the next few rounds. Anyway, according to the rules of the competition, this player will have his hcp cut for the next few games. | |

| Daren....at the level of your handicap declaration, i think its impossible to get a 49.
but all said and done, you played very well and its not only a creditable score, its also a very honest declaration.
as for the golfer who shot 79 on a 20 handicap, it might be a mistake on the organiser but lets see if its rectified. if not then its a simple case of sandbagging. there is no way a 20 handicapper can shoot a 79 on Garden, no matter how lucky he or she gets.

| I think hitting mid 80 for 20 handicapper can be luck.... But breaking 80 cannot be luck... it is something else...
For a 20 handicappers, if he hit a very good round in first nine... he will have trouble controlling his emotion already.... usually will blow up back nine...
That shows scoring this well could be a normal thing for this guy..

My bad. As rightly pointed out by Titu, DBS is the stock broking arm of DBS.....but since I believe ' like father like son' thingy, I also trust DBS be it Lickers or Bankers Now for my so called idol ie the person who gave me hope that 20HCP can play below 80, MY BAD...he is not fm DBS but instead fm COSCO...(DBS customer)....( I am shocked) Now....I am shitting bricks...coz I bot their share....or maybe I should not (only if I still believe 20HCP can play below 80)... So stressing!!!!
