| Never come across this double Peoria system, so did a search online but not sure if correct:
Quote Double Peoria System of Scoring
Definition
The Double Peoria System is sort of 1 day handicap system for tournaments.
This system is based, to some extent, on luck – allows a “handicap allowance” to be determined and then applied to each golfer’s score.
The System
The tournament committee secretly selects 6 holes. These are usually two par 3s, two par 4s and two par 5s and often one of each type per nine. Competitors do not know which holes have been selected. Another way of selecting the 6 holes is through a random selection after the completion of the game (especially if the organizer(s) also play in the tournament).
Groups tee off and complete their rounds, playing stroke play and scoring in the normal fashion with one exception: double par is the maximum (ie., 8 is the maximum score on a par 4 hole)
Following completion of play, the 6 Peoria holes are announced.
Each player totals his 6 secret holes. That total is multiplied by 3. Par is subtracted from that total. Then the resulting number is multiplied by 80%. This is the player’s handicap for the game. The allowance is subtracted from the player’s gross score and the result is the net Double Peoria System score.
Example of Double Peoria Calculation
On the 6 secret holes, Player A uses 30 strokes. 30 x 3 = 90 minus par 72 = 18. Player A’s net allowance is 18 * 80% = 14. So if Player A returns a gross score of 95. Then his net Double Peoria System score is 95 – 14 = 81. The lowest score is the winner. Unquote
Now this is interesting, not sure if I've interpreted it correctly:
6 secret holes: 2 X (par 3, 4 & 5) = 24 strokes This unlucky guy played badly, double par for these holes: 48 strokes Base on calculation above, allowance: 48 X 3 = 144 - 72 = 72 X 80% = 57.6
Now this same guy played very well of the remain holes, par: 72-24 = 48 strokes Total score: 48 (6 secret holes) + 48 (remaining holes) = 96 strokes. Net score: 96 - 57.6 = 38.4????

$10 or $20 a six? Hahaha! BT, you sound too eager! Must be a good player! Let's talk about it when we meet up with KopiO and Andy. First time we're playing together, and donno each other's handicap, so small small is ok. Just make sure the amount is enough to cover drinks and some food, eh? Andy, KopiO?

Andy, KopiO? No lah, I not good. I beginner. I just like feeding other people. If we're eating dinner, it could be about $20 per person for food, and maybe another $20 for drinks each, so could be $160 total. So if there is $20 per six per person, its only a total of $120 on the table.
