Dun joke la. I have played 1 ball for 18 holes alot of times before. The fastest I played was 2hr 45min and that was when the course was empty. During the next 18 in the afternoon, I played it in 3 1/2hr because I was stuck behind tons of groups who even though let me thru, will still have some waiting time in between. When I was 17, I played golf everyday after my 'O' Levels while waiting to go into Poly. I ever played max of 45 holes a day. Even when I was younger and fitter the last time, I found it very tiring and will shorten it to 27 holes the next day. Mind you back then Keppel was a walking track and us juniors carried our own full set of 14 clubs. Of course, I did go to the driving range in between. I have had a funny time with my Aussie friend when we were younger where we played speed golf - running after every shot to see how long we would take to finish 9 holes. Of course, the scores were still impt to us so we took our time to hit the shot but ran in between. We still did it in just under an hr but managed to do decent. After 9 holes, we were both shacked out cos its not fun doing it when we are carrying our own bags. I dun see a point of playing more than 36 a day, in particular, the same golf course. Your swing changes when you get tired. Also you are getting too used to the course you are playing. Playing well at your home course will not equate to playing well elsewhere if you want to take your game to the next level. Moreover, playing alot of holes will not make your game better. If you play more than 54 a day, I guess thats also a clue that its a sign of a lack of a proper pre-shot routine. Its still quality over quantity. Tiger wrote in his book that he gets more out of hitting 50 balls at the practice range analysing every shot instead of bashing 300 balls aimlessly. I dun condone slow play but I think it takes more time playing golf when you are not thinking about how to hit your shot, then walking off the putting green scratching your head thinking how did you make bogey or double on that hole.

| only started counting in April. 180 holes/ 16 games in 2 months. i play 9 holes as well as 18 holes, as wife is only PC holder. we do however enjoy evening 9 holes in NSRCC very much, so I think we will stick to 2x9 holes over the weekends rather than 1x18 or 2x18 holes. | |

Agreed, do not really need go to the extent to verify. However, I think sincerity is important in this forum. Do not need to "bull" everyone to made oneself look good. If I played 24 hcp, I say I am hcp 24 not going tell people that I am 12 hcp (cool man)
But again, maybe he has a good explanation to convince us i have to warn you slicer, the opposite if more often true in this forum, a 12 hcp saying that he/she is a 24hcp. thats why we setup at B.V.A. (buayee victim association) for those poor repose souls

| When we travel to China, 36 holes a day is not uncommon is we try to maximise the time there, although it must be said, in cool weather, 36 holes is pretty relaxing. Only time I tried 36 holes in our weather was at Horizon hills a couple of weeks ago. 1 round in the morning, the other in the afternoon. By the last 3 holes, I could not feel the lower half of my body (even with the China Caddy lining up my ball ... ) and was strugling to control a hook. I guess fitness is really crucial if you want to play more than 1 round a day. And while I am not that fit, if I do take leave to play golf, I'll try and squeeze in at least 27 holes, if not 2 full rounds, cos I don't have that much leave, so must make every day count! | |

| Shall we put it down to cultural differences?
From what I understand, in the other half of the world, one usually plays up their skill level, telling of how long they drive, how low their handicap and scores are. Perhaps S70B can chime in on this. Or just compare the posts in GolfWRX versus Golf Republic.
In our half of the world, it's quite the opposite. No need to elaborate I'm sure, the evidence is all around us.
Strange phenomenon. | |

Understand and reasonable too. I will like to play 36 holes a day too, at all possible when we are on a golf trip holiday. We will try to made full use of the day light as much as possible but most of the time .. the caddy need to pull me from the fairway to the green on the last 32nd to 36th holes .. I can hardly walk no more Pak, yah I sometimes need to be dragged to the 37th hole also ...

Strange phenomenon. Very true dude. I have met a few 'low single digit hdcpers' here who struggled to break 80. Also, there is no way they can play to their hdcp with the repetoire of shots they have in their bag. I have not even mentioned about their short game. It is true that some westerners here do hit the ball hard and very long ways, it probably boils down to their baseball background...however, those that do not hesitate to tell me about their distance averages when we are paired up together have their 300+yd drives sometimes mysteriously fall short of my 270 averages. Hitting an 8 iron on a 170yd par 3 but coming up short by 25yds is also fairly common. Don't get me wrong. There are tons of talented and solid players here in the US. However, for every gifted player, there are many more who are trying to make it. Out of this group, many have a false impression that they rank up there with the best. Much like watching the first few episodes of 'American Idol'. I think thats whats so wonderful about golf. How you perform, talk about and play the game will mirror your character in real life.

| Wait! Nanti! I Do Not Want People to MissUnderstand Me Again!
I am not stirring anything or trying to incite hate. I am just saying.
Verify? Yah. Sure, I can suggest you to do it, but I definitely will not do it myself. Why? I got better things to do. Lovely wife for me to sayang and 2 little ones for me to play with. I agree with SBH. Freedom of Speech. One can say what he want to say but credibility at the end of the day is another thing and respect has to be earned separately. I also want to exercise my freedom of speech. I ever beat our Dr. Ben Tan once in sailing, somemore limpei at that time only had 7 months sailing experience. i good, right?
I not so much bothered by our dear friend lah. i got nothing against him and i just like to poke fun at people's expense. including mine. in fact, I am looking forward to play with him and even if he kicks my ass, I will be more than happy for him but it does not stop me from poking fun at him. i only poke fun at ppl i consider as friends. i do not go around poking any tom, tick, harry, jane, mary, uncle or auntie that i see on the street.
i so lurve u all on GR loh...
Back to main topic, I try hard to game once a week. but when i travel, I do always have the opporunity to game twice a week. got an almost pro schedule.
Sat morn: clear work and email Sat noon: game
Sun Morn: gym and driving range Sun noon: game
but if in singapore, i try my best to have a game at least once every saturday or sunday... if the week goes by without a single game in it, i would be cranky the whole of next week until i play my next game. withdrawal symptoms.
