Frankly, i dun mind...

A new development is being negotiated right now. we were hoping to make the RDE face more consistent, durable and renewable and it was tough to get precise milled face incorporated (not insert) into the putter.

and we want the putter to be English-made and if possible in the heart of the precision engineering and metallurgy centre, Sheffield. this is also the place where the Zen inventor, Mr Nick Middleton was born, bred and currently live.

We have found the ideal precision milling expert but its like asking ferrari to make bicycle. afterall they make parts for missiles, space craft and high tec precision products and they are based in Sheffield. i also understand that Bettinardi is a sub contractor of theirs.

let see if this can be incorporated in the actual production version. together with Nick we have got to convince them to make the face for us.

Now for those who wants a piece of the definitive prototype (final version), please indicate the type and colour of putter you want.

What is the difference btw the definitive proto and actual?

the actual will be done differently from the proto and the face mill is the key difference. the rest of the putter is the same. The face will be more consistent from a milling point of view and it also allow us to "change the face" when its worn or damaged.

as the proto is milled from a block it will not be possible to "repair the face".

however this is still subject to whether Newburgh Engineering is willing to do it for us. the MD of Newburgh is Nick's brother and like i say, its like asking ferrari to make a bicycle...but it will be great to get a very precise engineering company to make the RDE putter face and assemble that in Sheffield.

there are 3 necks - plumbers neck, short slant and centre-shafted. there are 3 colours - Satin (bead blast), Black PVD (matt) and Bronze PVD (matt). the mid mallet is under design at the moment.

Mr Lam...i have only one LH SS in 355g head and in full RDE rounded ridge which is what the final prototype will have eventually.
