| Not sure if the future ZA1 can change to a dot rather than a line.... If there is an option, hen it will be great. | |

| Boys...this is a long one....
there is a lot of technical specifications that went into making of the prototypes. in the process i have also learn a significant lot about putter design. the 355 g mark that you see on the toe near the sole indicates the weight. For prototyping purposes, we have made 3 versions - a plumbers neck, a mid slant and a centre shafted. they have different face balance but the same sweet spot. Both the PN and MS comes fixed at 69 and 71 degree lie but we have to adjust the hosel position to maintain FB and SS. the current prototype 345 and 355 will probably be the only ones that will ever be produced. the final custom version will probably be 350g.
the reason for the different lie is so that we do not have to bend the putter more than 1 degree each way. of course from a scientific point of view, when the lie angle is adjusted, the face balance and sweet spot is changed and for very sensitive golfers they can detect this change immediately. if the FB and SS is changed, the result is a clicky sound on impact rather than a soft tad feel.
In my opinon, Zen offers the biggest breakthrough in putter technology which is the RDE (Reduce Dimple Error) Technology. Golf balls are dimpled and most flat putter do not contact the ball enough to produce a top spin roll and thus maintain accuracy. in fact most putters create backspin. Once a golfer roll the Zen on the greens, they will immediately feel and see the difference. the hosel design though subtle is very important to creat higher MOI. in face when i saw the next generation of the Ody BS, i was not surprised that they have now make changes in the same direction as the ZO blades.
we are also currently working on different colours such as black matt and aged bronze.
the ZO blades made in the same factory that makes the kirk currie, gauge design, Ody Black Series, George Spirits, Yes premium range. working with the manufacturer has been a lot of fun and they are top notched and only milled putters and nothing else. they have 35 free loading milling machines in their plan and 2 of these are military grade high speed milling machine that requires special permission from the US (not chinese authorities) to be installed.
FTR i have commissioned a ZA1 for myself and it will have absolutely no marking on the sole and it will come beach. there will be a similar one (non beached) and that will be used on Asian Tour. both comes with sight dot and not lines.
the putter is milled from a solid block of SS 303 and the finishing is first rated.
i will try and get one more for you icebocc and that is a promise.
DGman
based on my NDA agreement with the principal, this is as much as i can disclose at the moment. | |

| i believe this one is not a toy, its a deadly weapon in the hands of the right assassin. whatever happens i just make sure that Slinger don't get his hands on one. that will be highly dangerous.
