| Its ok to play bad....as long as you win money. I just do something non-golf related after a bad game. Read a book, watch a movie etc. I also forget my bad shots easily and remember those that were truly spectacular. Helps with the self confidence. | |

| Actually the most important question is ....What were you expecting to play ? That will then set the precedense to the after math feeling or agony
for me....I always start off that i am capable of playing below 38 over.....so most times I am damm happy...Think there is this philo guru...Mr.Nutella something...he said somehting like this ' its not the good shots but how one react when hit a bad shot that tells the true person'......so you see, many of the people kind of good sick of my non chalant attitude liao...coz so many bad shots....hahahah

| I think you are referring to Bob Rotella. Good read - Golf is a game of confidence, and the other one is Golf is not a game of perfect. | |

| try pitching and chipping 6 times to put on green...... in a single hole... That's wat happen to me on the 8th hole....
best shot for me on the same 18 hole is on a 17th hole where I get my ball to abt 1 foot from the hole from abt 60 metre out...
this shows how bad my game was last friday....

| My 2 cents
Many of us play better when we stop caring. I personally think that my game hasn't been improving because of too much mental masturbation. Worry too much about alignment, worry too much about set up, worry about whether my weight transfer is correct, worry about whether my divots are coming up in front of ball, worry about my foot position, worry about my grip, worry about whether my right shoulder is dipped correctly, worry about my spine angle, worry about keeping my chin up, worry about my backswing, worry about my follow through, worry about how i finish, worry about my grip pressure
when i stop worry about this, and just take a relaxed swing, a practice swing, have a laugh or chuckle before i step up to release tension, I realize my swing is far more effortless, and by swinging, rather than trying to hit the ball to where i want it to go, the ball automatically becomes a little more accurate and i get more distance. When I am tense, my hands won't release and I end up with a fade/slice. If I try to compensate, my hands roll over too fast and I hook/pull. If I don't try, the clubhead will open, return to square and close off, all without me having to make it happen.

u got all the Rotella books and you never practice what he says... when u play, go into Trusting mode, don't think about swing mechanics in a game

| Or better still, avoid the lingo and just swing. Some people suffer from too many swing thoughts - I'm one of them. And because I have been practicing on hitting the ball, I've not been practicing on grooving my swing. My swing can change 6 ways from Saturday during the course of a round, hence consistency would come through a consistent swing and not trying to manipulate the club and ball | |

| I recovered to shoot a 97 today! 2 pars 1 triple 6 double bogeys 9 bogeys 39 putts #&$%^%#@$@# I played with little thoughts today, other than 1) trying to quieten the lower body with a firm left foot at upswing 2) attacking the ball at downswing more from the inside 3) swinging down the line after impact I guess the conscious effort with using a very light grip and keeping my wrists soft helped smoothen the transition a lot. | |

| 90 still must wait long long.
But I am happy with the round la...I enjoyed myself very much.
Had 2 GIR's and a few putts for par (most of the bogey holes).
Good that I can see my approach shots today at the Par 4's within wedge distance and Par 5's looks easier too.
My triple and double came from 2 Par 3's, expectedly but still disappointing.
Saadiyat wasnt too windy and the overcast helped.
One other thing I discovered was with the long 4 iron and 3 iron, I seem to be able to hold the line (much reducing the slice that you have witness on my long irons) much longer and straighter when I switched to the BASEBALL grip.
I reckon I can cross my hands much easier that way?
My normal vardon grip doesnt work too well with these, but they behave ok with shorter irons.
Strangely also, I play my hybrids and 3 woods with vardon grip and they worked quite well most of the time ( the couple of games I last played with you).

| Yes, baseball grip will help you to roll over more naturally -- this is why people who use baseball grip (esp beginners) tend to hook their shots. Don't think too much about ball striking for now - focus on grooving/building a consistent and repeatable swing, and ball striking will come naturally. | |

| Yes Sir! I want your rhythm and tempo! But I do notice that with my planted left foot, I do not sway at upswing as much, and the result is a lot rounder and compact downswing!! Some of my 4 irons and 18* hybrids were flying man! | |
