| think there is a need to know where is the weakness....
putting or short game?
For me, par 4 i can get 2 on but 3 putt. infact, most of my games are birdie game but end up bogey...
not sure is equipment or operator issue...

| Well I think jus relax and forget about getting eagles, birdies, pars or bogey...
Focus on the next shot and e results will be very surprising...
The tension kills our rythem and feel...
Jus relax...zzzzz | |

| That's the challenge of golf...
The advise from most are to play with lower hcp player, so that you can improve...
The problem is, if the lower hcp player is older than you, you will be demoralised...
I played in a flight last week with 3 senior citizens, age between 60 to 75. 2 of them hcp of 5 and 9 respectively. what is demoralising is that their drives are the same distance as mine and their swing are unorthodox. same for the way they putt...
eg, before putting, one of them have the putter closed, always aim to the left of the hole during addressing. But when he putt, his putter will be opened and holed the ball...
can anyone explain how is it possible?

| There is a way but it is not going to be easy as you need to figure out the exact area where your game is lacking. I would suggest that you chart out your games for example. - Off the tee, if you hit the fairway put "F" and if you miss it you put "ML" for Miss Left and "MR" for Missing Right. - Approach to green, if you hit the green put "G" and if you miss it you put "ML" for Miss Left and "MR" for Miss Right. IF short or over, its "MS" and "MO" respectively. - For putting, just write 1/2/3/4 putts accordingly. This is just the basics in identifying where your weakness is, you can be more precise if you want. - Mostly bogeys are either made when you do not scramble up and down which means you miss the greens mostly. Therefore, iron play is weak, thus you have to work on your iron play. Having said that, a good short game is also critical but having to scramble all the time is stressful and it will not lower your score dramatically. If you are able to chart these out for 10 games, a pro or myself can help you pin point the areas you need to work on to strengthen your game. If you want to find out more and serious about improving, I would be more than willing to help. FREE OF CHARGE It also helps to keep your game simple by thinking shot by shot, just thinking of hitting the fairway off the tee and hitting the green from the fairway/rough and then 2 putts. Easier said than done only through practise/hardwork, that can be achieved. Hope this was helpful. | |

| here's what I did. Dissect your bogeys bro:
1. can you reach green in regulation? If yes, then putting is for sure your problem. If no then next question: 2. Can you at least reach just outside the green, in regulation? If yes, then improving your chipping could help. The mantra for this type of player is "one chip one putt" 3. If you are not even on close to the green, in regulation, then it's your long game. Are you slicing/hooking/fat/thin/topping along the way? Lost balls? Penalties? Hazards? No distance?
I'm usually facing situation no. 3 then 2. Rarely 1, so I depended on my chip or short pitch a lot. If I'm lucky, then my "one chip one putt" will lead to a par. My Iron/hybrid/fairway wood shots are lousy. Long par 4s are sure killers for me. Par 3s with water is another assassin. I love par 5s, I usually get my pars on par 5 or Par 3 with no water nearby (no chance of taking penalty).
for sure many other routes...this is the one I took. Still work in progress
