PostSubject: Good offer or fake goods   Good offer or fake goods I_icon_minitimeTue Feb 23, 2010 11:43 am

Hi guys,

Saw this posting on Ebay Singapore. looks too good to be true.

http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/TaylorMade-Burner-2009-Golf-Iron-Set-NEW-4-AW-Stiff_W0QQitemZ280469081245QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item414d428c9d

A brand new burner iron for 415 SGD.

together with this posting from the same seller is a R9 iron and a X22.

http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/R9-9-irons-Graphite-Regular-golf-clubS-Right-Handed_W0QQitemZ280469083504QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item414d429570

All Brand new!! TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE...

$415 SGD is the starting bid price and not the final or buy now price.
Looks suspicious because of

1) The statement "If there is any question about the authenticity of these irons, I'd invite you to check my overall feedback score and purchase with confidence!"

- there isn't any feedback for the seller.

2) If you look at the burner descriptions, it seems like the whole description is being copied from somewhere. The level of english not consistent with the R9 description

We deliver with the EMS,
Very fast,
Arrive you for 4-8 days.

3) If you look at the pictures for the R9, there is wanggongchang369 on the pictures.
Search "wanggongchang369" in google. And then you decide if the goods are fake or not.

ps. For me, too good to be true (esp on ebay, internet) = most likely too good to be true.

Ask The FocalPoint for his expert opinion and TM buddies authentication.

He seems like an expert in it.

googled this guy wanggongchang369.. seems like he has a online shop in China, is there any way to report this guy so that innocent people in Singapore don't get blinded by "too good offers"?

I tried to click on the "report seller" in ebay but seems like you can only report if you received goods from this guy. think we should do our bit to help beginners on how to proof authenticity of golf clubs.

any suggestions anyone?

Well... most clubs are made or assembled in China these days...
They might be the real deal and he might have gotten hold of these clubs
when they "fell" off the back of the goods truck...

No worries mate... Actually bought a PSP a couple of years back in China
was supposedly meant for Japan market i think... Had Japanese manual and stickers and what not...

Bought it so cheaply can't remember the price now... Worked like a charm and still working till this day!!!

Some of these guys might even be packers... Met some guys in Reservists before and they told me that
they actually take goods from the containers to sell outside!!!

OT a bit,

saw a golf magazine in malaysia (feb issue), on Mizuno fake blades. They did test on the fake blades and the real ones. The fake one just fall behind the real one by a couple of feet.. (no more than 15)

Hence it is really very difficult to differential between the real and the fake.

Hi guys, you guys get so excited over this guy. Go to alibaba.com la. There are a thousand companies for you to catch. Thats why TM and the likes have given up taking them to court. They will have to spend more money just to round them up i guess. Just go to alibaba.com and see for yourself! affraid

OT oso,

i am using a China fake MP 68...i would say the groove is the culprit lo...abit shallow to impart enough spin for that couple feet maybe...
but manage to make pro V1 bounce once and halt, not too bad la for its value...but that said, i highly recommend all to buy genuine club...(Onli cheapo like me are exempted)

Will buy a Black Ni 68 from Europe for course use and have China 68 for range use...

THere is always this trick they play in the ebay. If the bid price low, the owner can always jump in and bid high on his own goods just 2seconds before it expires. He can always put up new item for sale again for the old item again until he got what he wants.
