| Just wanted to warn all golfers here that any current Taylormade R9 SuperTri heads found here now could be subjected to scrutiny by Taylormade, the worldwide company itself.
I noticed on my 'rounds' in Far East, that there were a few SuperTri heads floating around and being touted for SGD$450.. Through some other contacts in TM Singapore, I was told that these heads are, not surprisingly, from China, and could be (or not) original.
My advice is to be wary of who you're buying the driver from, and realise what you're in for... I picked up one of the heads and there was a 'kling klang' sound coming from inside.. and the shop owner claimed that this was from the Tour Van. A lot of people nowadays love to refer to the Tour Van and say it's a TOUR Model. My opinion is that this must be a Chan Brothers Tour Van, for the simple reason being that even Golf Stores across the U.S. DO NOT yet have this driver in stock, let alone the heads.
So hey, be patient when buying the new stuff. THEY WILL get here someday, but until then, be patient, and well, do the right thing i.e. Don't Buy from CHEATS who wanna sell you 'Tour Van' heads for $450.
Bloody rubbish. | |

| This is quite common in the country where i come from. It takes two hands to clap so if there are willing buyers, there will be willing sellers. But its a good thing that you warn those who do not know how to differrentiate the difference.
The other option is go to TGW.com. They are already taking orders and should be delivering early next week.

| OMG! Seriously? I can't believe even a proper shop in Far East would resort to selling heads Times are that bad that people must resort to this to pay the rent huh? $450? OMG, these rejected or 'back door' goods are not even worth $5, only stupid people will believe and pay $450.......LOL, your 'chan brothers tour van' is classic lor. Dont know how you can think of the funniest jokes!!!!! However, must give credit to the seller's creativity to be able to come up with 'from the tour van'..seems to be the trend now. Very fashion..now everyone say tour issue..... on a side note, why got 'kling klang' one? You mean with the 'kling klang' he still dare to show u, and ask u buy? at $450? I guess the kling klang is from the screw weight, probably broke....... | |

| Sorry, i was station in the middle east for too long till i felt i was one of them. Just out of curiousity. How to tell whether it is tour issue or its of the rack??? I happen to have a chance to view some of the touring pros stuff and to my suprised, i couldnt find any serial number on them.
@TFP, its cool to know that you have a R9 TP. So how could you tell that the R9 is a TP as they no longer print the TP logo on TM heads.

| If you are a lady, you can't cos we are supplying services to the plant owners in the middle east. Something like a EPC. Middle east do really need massage parlours though. If you look like what you are in the picture, you might have a long queue everyday. Good business. | |

TFP, you should not mislead forumers here....look at the 2 heads and you will find that one is a TP, the other is the retail model. both heads set up differently and feel differently. its more than the hosel that makes both different in feel and control. TP model Retail Model DGman

| Thank you DGman. Luckily this forum has your services or else i cannot imagine the aftermath. Forummers bringing forummers to buy TP products based on the Hosels. I was told by a Taylormade guy before they make their heads differently for TP models but then TFP told me otherwise. I sort of believe him because he uses TM products. Guess its always good to hear from an expert. | |

DGman
if you are into Tour Issue with TP serial no, i am sure we can make some arrangements. Oh by the way, they are made in china.

Oh... no... still don't see anything. Oh well, I guess only a true master can tell... like you, DGMan... May the force be with you.

| DG....Mmmm... I also seem to have trouble trying to differentiate the TP & retail model in the pics... can you help? I am using a old Burner with TP printed on it and bought it from the US. Serve me welll esp on dispersion. The new SuperTri look great.
BTW, how do you get the shaft change e.g. to a Fujikura .. if the OEM comes with the screw type shown in the pics? Can that be done?
Thanks.. | |
