Beware OCC range

HI guys,
Just putting up a warning to fellow honourable golfers to be careful in OCC. Had a bad experience last night - left my card in the ball dispensing machine for maybe 5-10 mins. I was in the bay infront of the machine. Realised my carelessness, turned back and the card was GONE! Had my name on it but it made little difference even though I had reported the lost. I have always made it a practise to ask the golfers around or call out if i find a card in the machine before returning it to the payment counter. Unfortunately i cant live by the slogan "finders keepers" because we cant always punish someone for carelessness since we are all careless at one time or another.

Guess this will apply to many places.....the only thing which I don think will apply will be around CBD area (for me its SunTech), tissue paper left on table and nobody take.....people here are very considerate or maybe they find tissue not worth taking

Well, its the same everywhere, thats the general concensus of everyone. So in the end, it is still the responsibilties of the individual concern to be more careful of what he is doing. Its not just OCC. Its everywhere. Lesson learnt and don't repeat thats all you can do and accept that as finality. JMHO

Fredc, you can inform the counter lady if you know your card# ; she can 'lock' the card# in their system so that it cannot be validated nxt time.

Guess nowadays a lot of different class golfers liao ....

i was at bishan range and i was buying some balls

forgot to remove my card. but 1 nice golfer returned me the card.

Have $100 inside..

I have checked with counter lady before , they said even though they know its a stolen card , they cant demand that thief to return card lor.
I dun know wats wrong with OCC system .

I suppose Bishan range has better safeguards against card theft cases like these. If you lose your card, you can ask the staff to void that card.

"i" asked the counter lady before. He was told to take down the card#. If card lost, go to office and have it de-activated.

I will check again ; i want to know know exactly how they will handle such case.

Thanks for the tip ethee i will record the card nbr when i purchase the new card. The lady at the counter said she would look for my name on the card and call me if the person tries to validate again but I think it maybe difficult for her confront the guy. the card nbr will be the surest way.

Bishan validates owner ID with cards issued to customers.

Cannot top-up others' range cards.

One of the counter staff at Bishan even called my name over the intercomm to collect my range card when somebody turned in my card after I left it in the ball dispensing machine.

Nowadays, I dun put more than $20 or $30 in any card just in case it gets lost or stolen.

Having extra range cards is good also.

This is not true Bro. I lost my card 2 weeks ago in OCC too which still has 3545 balls in it worth about SGD210. Thankfully I know the amount and date I topped up.

The counter lady was very kind and went beyond what I expected to track the card number for me and helped me to keep a look out if anyone tried to validate my card.

Earlier this week, they called me and told me that they found my card and my Balance 3545 balls are intact! Honestly I nvr expect to be able to get back my card. The ladies in the counter really went the extra mile and I must say I appreciated what they have done.

I suppose at the end of the day its our carelessness and it pays to know your card number!

feel your pain, just lost my range card at green fairways 2 days ago. worse part was i just topped it up with. bye bye 50 bucks

I think Marina Bay Golf range ball collecting system is good in the sense that one needs to remove the card before selecting the desire number of balls on the screen and subsequently, the balls could be discharged. This will ensure that the golfers will remove the card from the slot machine.

Would it be better to remove the card after you select the desired number of balls but before the dispensing of balls? Much like the ATMs, insert card, select amount to withdraw, take back card, than take $$$.
