I think Noodle! Long & Soft is nice too, the V2 Gamer is nice as well.

but now i like my Bridgestone E6 and TP black.

Penta TP too expensive and i don't make full use of that ball.

Noodles are great value for money, with a hint of spin built in. Not so heart pain when I lose one, my bad day ball.

I prefer the Bridgestone e5 over the e6, unique combi of a 2 piece ball with a urethane cover found on the more expensive ones. Feels like a 3 piece when putting.

I find that the e6 is quite easily scratched. Use one on 18 hole and it looks like a very worn out ball. Anyone has the same problem?

Buy cheap balls is the best. Everytime i take out ProV1, won't even last me more than 3 holes. Most of the time lost after I tee off, won't even last me until my second shot.... sim tia man...

On the contrary, when I use some chapalang ball, the ball will somehow stick to me for the rest of the day.... funny.

I seem to have that problem before too. Now a day, if i play well, i can go through 9/18 hole without losing a ball. But when i do, i can lose 3-5 balls in one round. Something wrong with me or my swing. Smile

Treat yourself to the ProV1 only on wide open holes with no danger of jungle and water lor.... If there's trouble, stick to the cheap balls.

I tend look for value for $$ ie performance and its $$$. My comments on balls used :

Tried Prov1 and Prov1x, they seems to be good around the green and putting also for me but no so good for my drive - shorter..

Noodle balls really not good considering its price and value....

Used to play nike balls but find cannot last long... cut easily (find out all range from China)

Callaway balls seems not bad to me

Another value for $$$ Pinnacle gold, bought in Keppel once when forget to bring balls.. overall acceptably good performance at very reasonable price...

Maybe will try NXT tour and Maxfli balls next......

Hillgreen, The new Maxfli you see on the market is not the same as the old Maxfli.

The original Maxfli company was bought over by TaylorMade for it's ball technology to get into the ball making business.

TaylorMade has now sold it to Dick's Sporting Goods. Not sure what technology they got along with the company name. But I think they are producing low to mid-priced balls now and leaving out the premium end of things. Look up Dick's Sporting Goods on the net and you might get an idea as to what this entails for the Maxfli brand they bought over.

I think you missed out on the Isetan sale they had where they were lelonging 5 boxes of Noodles for $20 bucks. At that price, any ball is good value.

tried surlyn cover balls after been playing urethane balls.
only my approach shot suffers. pitching, sand saves and putting not as sharp and no feel.
not much else i can say. so cost about 1 stroke per hole difference.

I have accumulated so many Pro V1 & V*s that I can now open a 2nd hand golf ball shop ha ha. On the other hand I have so many chapalang balls that I can sell also. 95 % of the Vs are 'experienced' balls so they had the tendency to avoid hazards and the likes ha ha. Quite a few times my Pro V ball, I can used until they really look "more Payn," in chinese means pock marked ha ha and they still don't want to get lost. Even hit into hazard still can find. Thats one reason why I called it 'experienced' ball..... Very Happy I like to use them until they died of old age and automatilly go look somewhere themselves to hide away from me , though at a certain age I usually helped them along to their final resting place.... lol! I do used chapalang balls for shots like island green types muahahaha as chances of it taking a swim is quite high.

@#%$#@ I have bought Noodles, the old model, at as high as $25 per dozen when Golfers Network have their sale period. Till now, I still have 1 or 2 boxes left and which I don't used anymore. If anyone interested, I can sell them cheap cheap at $12 per dozen.

Just came back from Taka and saw Golf House price on the Pro Vs @ $89 per dozen, Penta @ $90, Bridgestone E 5, 6 and 7 @ $58. I have about 3 dozens of E6 to go at $40 per dozen if anyone interested.

Mizzy, U tried the Bridgestone e5 yet? 2 piece performance with the urethane cover of 3 piece for the feel and some spin.

I think they were lelonging that time cos TM had bought over Maxfli and were phasing out the old noodle series. Remember they used to have Al Dente and Rottini? After that just became one version, the long and soft, and then the +.

When they were phasing out, I also bought boxes of the Maxfli Black Max at $5 a box also. Still got 5 or so boxes sitting at home.

Like cannot finish. Think can make Foo Chow Fishball Noodles with it. ROFL

Now need glasses, that time still didn't need. Quite sure la... but now you got me doubting my memory.

Read my previous post on why so cheap. The 3 piece Black Max oredi only $5 at another sale.

Was so tempted to stock up then, but was stopped then by the female police officer beside me that day.

Haven't tried the latest e5 myself, but I don't mind high cos I'm quite low with my ball flght.

And yes it's the urethane covered Black Max. I dunno, I just love the way impact feels with that ball, all the way down to the putter.

Hey guys, go read up June's edition of Golf Digest. They're reviewing golf balls. Was a bit surprised that there were so many brands of golf balls receiving the "Gold Award". Some of them quite cheap too. Make's me wanna try these cheap and 'good' balls also.
