| wow this thread keeps going man... let's keep it up until TP Range decision makers take notice.... hehehe... simple requests: cheaper balls (I reckon 6ct is a fair price) and softer balls... that playgolf thingy should not be tied to the balls cost, it should be a separate charge (maybe like snooker table by minutes or like pool table which is per game). | |

80 balls - $7 for those who dun wanna play the Score game. 40 balls - S$6.45 for those who wanna play the Score game.
i was there last sunday and there was a competition with prize money and it looks like some golfers seems to be enjoying it.
anyway, was told new balls have arrived.
i will update all of u. | |

| Balls at TPY (Poh Bros) not so hard as the yellow ones.
Lowered the target back catchment areas for clearer views beyond targets.
Reduced horizontal length of 150 metre target so can see 200 metre target located behind better.
Balls still 15-20% shorter distance than regulation course balls.
Still not cheap but playing PG (60 balls for S$7) should encourage accuracy and careful thought BEFORE hitting the balls.
Still better than Tanglin's GC 's (First Tee) pathetic 9-hole course which was a favourite short-game practice place when Rob & George managed it.
Some of the tees are little more than mounds of sand, and the fairways are littered with leaves and dead dry grass.
Only the greens are tolerable.
But you have to play around or wait for the large groups of 1st tee students and their coaches or wiat for 10-20 minutes until the group moves on to the next tee.
Personally, EGC (Mandai), JCC's exec course, and NSRCC's exec course are much better places to play/practice.

| I went to tpy range this morning. I agree with ck that the new balls are less hard than the yellow ones. The place is nt that crowded and they have someone to assist u if u are first time there n dunno how to use their system which I think it's nice. I paid $7 for 80 balls. Still considered expensive compared to other ranges.. | |

| MC: It's worse for those who dun hit far (approx. 150 m or less) cos less compression of two-piece range balls. BTW, last year, I watched one of Mardan Mamat's regular playing partners hit 'used & abused' range balls over the back fence at Sembawang CC driving range. He did it effortlessly and blasted one after another with near perfect trajectory and tight dispersion ranges. I like Executive GC's driving range cos they use 'experienced' regulation golf balls. Pick out the half dozen of fairy good ones out of a batch of 50, and you can judge distance and ball-flight characteristics fairly accurately. CK | |

Yesterday, we went there to check it up after we read it on the website. We were highly impressed by what we heard from the staff and decided to give it a try. My gosh, we really got a great time hitting the target and the pop-up scoring graphic on the bay screen was really cooool. man!
We were so happy that we decided to sign up as member. We can't wait to go back to have great fun again. Check it up...........you'll never regret it! ahahah.. Really.

| TP's floor is sloping towards the targets and the mats have hardened. As for balls, Razak from Ping was hitting shots to the top of the net from the ground floor, whereas I was barely reaching the 200m mark, with the same club. | |

| By adding micro chip into the golf ball, it make the ball heavier thus can't go far, the actual distance that a golfer expect. The last time without micro chip you can hit a ball beyond 200m, now you be lucky if you can hit 180m! Even the golf pro make noise, hopefully they have changed he ball by Feb 2010 that's what I heard from the counter ppl. Bishan Range $3.20 for 50 ball = .064cts/ball OCC Range $10.00 158 ball = .063cts/ball TopGolf TP $7.00 for 80 ball = .0875cts/ball cheers | |

| I haven't had the time to check out the new balls yet, haven't they changed it as per their website said?
Actually the very first batch of balls, the yellow ones, were the good ones to hit. Its the light green ones after they implemented the PlayGolf nonsense that are hard as rocks.
What's the latest color now?

| At 0.875 a ball, why don't you go to one of those golf shops and buy 3 at $1.00 and bring them to the range to hit. Nobody will notive th endifference as now both are white in colour. Not only you save money, you will be supporting the local golf shop. If you don't know where to find any of this shop, go to My Golf Shop at Trade Hub 2. There are so many brands you can find at 3 for $1.00. Some are as good as new as it may have gone OB on the very first T shot. By th eway, I am not related in any way to My Golf Shop. Just showing fellow GR ians where to get cheap good balls.

Make up your mind. basically, what i meant is that the current batch of balls are not the worst of all the batches. in a nutshell, i can still practise with those at TPY range nw.

| My MY Oooppps...blooper. Anyway, what I do is everytime at the course, especially, MBGC, I always picked up more balls than I lose. So those which can be recycle, I will put them to good use. But for those battered or chapalang brands, I always accumulate until maybe 30/40 balls, I will bring it along to the range and hit it off. Then can see whats the actual distance is like for a 'real' ball.
