| I used Ping G set and fitting was done at Champions without any tool or monitor or tracking system , just swing with different versions clubs and I have to feel and decide which is more comfortable, that's it. As newbie, I am not sure if this was the right way of fitting though. Can pros/seniors advise? Thanks | |

| honestly, i think that fittings are not very accurate at some of Singapore's pro shop. I bought a ping g driver at champions and they didnt fit me very well as well.
Golf is truly an expensive sport. If u aim to maximise ur performance, you just gotta try them all. I was fitted so many times and the one shaft that performs best for me was not recommended to me during my fitting. However, i did had a great fitting at Singapore Titleist's performance centre. Its free and the fitter Andrew is as good as it comes. Really nice and know his stuff.

| Imho, the relationship between you and the fitter is very important because you have to in reality trust everything that he shows you and analysed for you. For myself, i won't trust anybody who can tell me what shaft i need and what degree loft I'm most suitable for unless there's some hard numbers to back it up..
Golf in Sgp is a very competitive business and we're spoilt for choices with fitters. They are many who would do it for a small fee but you're not compelled to buy anything from them and Andrew does it for free.
So all you need is to spend some time and ask around...

| Thanks for advice bros... If I go fitting for titleist driver, what actually I should expect? I should buy another driver or can I "upgrade' the titleist shaft on my Ping head or... Yup, too much choices making it hard to choose | |

Andrew will probably fit you to a titleist driver head together with a shaft that they're carrying. you can make an appointment with them for a fitting session, they have different sessions for different clubs. Else, you can head down for their titleist thursday events. https://www.titleist.com.sg/thursdays no obligations to buy from them at all, which is good. Andrew will give you decent advice as well.

I think a custom fitting session should be able to help a client understand through track man or flightscope and possibly other swing data what shafts and clubs would be suitable for them. It's good to be backed up by numbers instead of just feel as feel could change and swing could change. A good fitting session should be able to help clients with knowing numbers and information on their swing and helping them to find out what type of shaft and club would be more suitable for them. The questions you can ask a club fitter would be? (it's good to bring a current club ,to use it to compare it with the clubs they recommend ) 1. what's my club head speed and ball speed? with the current club and proposed club 2. whats the spin rate? 3. What's the launch angles of the current club and proposed club 4. Good to check lie and loft angles 5. what's the smash factor of the current club and proposed club With knowing these few numbers, it will help give a good understand of what shaft would be suitable and recommended? if the ball flight is lower , you would need a softer tip or things to check would be the loft of the driver and the shaft flex and and weight. I hope it helps. =)

| Nowadays the top brands are quite close in performance, it is the fitting services provided that make the difference. | |
