Payment has been made. The amount billed to me is SGD397.60 so this works out to be SGD39.76 each.

There is still a slight chance that we may still be hit with GST as the value is calculated based on an FX rate at the customs discretion.

Paypal conversion as usual is daylight robbery!!!

Monument Golf just emailed that they have been shipped, and we should expect them to arrive in 7-10 days.

I understand that that Paypal's conversion rates may be a little dear but I wanted to eliminate 1 uncertainty by locking in the FX rate. In my experience, the conversion rates used by Visa or Mastercard aren't that far off either, usually 300-400bp from mid-market rates.

Today's mid-market rate is 1.37
Paypal rate 1.42
Visa/Mastercard 1.40-1.41

The difference would have come up to about SGD8 so I decided to go ahead.

Actually, that was the intention behind asking everyone to WhatsApp me when they have done the transfer, and then I'd be able to set up a group chat with everyone in it.

However, in retrospect, there will only be 9 collections at most so it's not too difficult either. In any case, I am located in Seletar area, and my office is in Tuas.

Field test was a success, worth the money IMHO. Magnets were very strong, didn't budge at all even when I drove down kerbs, and over roots. Really made it substantially more convenient to use a rangefinder, instead of having to always retrieve it from the carry case. 

Previously, I had the carry case hanging off my bag behind the buggy. Everytime I want to use it, I'd have to go around the back to retrieve the rangefinder from the case, walk to the ball to laser, walk back to bag to keep the rangefinder before grabbing a club. With this, I drive all the way up to the ball position, laser my next shot options while still seated in the buggy, and only get out to grab a club when I have decided on how I want to proceed.

I was warned by several friends, having the rangefinder stuck on the buggy frame also means that there is a chance you may forget to keep it after your game.

And true enough, in only my 2nd game with it, I nearly forgot about it when I got back to the buggy drop-off area. Unloaded all my stuff, was about to walk off and very fortunately was reminded by the marshall that my rangefinder was still on the buggy.

So guys, do be reminded to put the rangefinder back in your bag before you return the buggy!
