Anyone aiming to get handicap this year?

Hello - anyone in this forum is working towards getting his/her handicap this year?

Starting this thread to check if there are members out there who are getting his/her handicap, so that we can share more about tips on how to improve the game / which golf membership to take on / etc...

Where do you plan to get your handicap?

GolfBuddy, MGKK?

Saw there's a package at Palmspring Batam, courtesy round plus one year handicap maintenance at ~SGD250, which I think is quite affordable. However, not so sure if the handicap is USGA/EGA accredited. Cos if it can only be used in Batam, then abit no point haha

1) Any recommendation on which handicap to take?

2) If I wanna play in Sg, do you know what is the min handicap requirement?

I'm considering GolfBuddy for now.
The CR is at mandai. It's also a bit cheaper if there is 3 people who sign up together.

For most courses here, I thinking men handicap in the 20+ is the upper limit?
Some courses may not be as strict.

Do you know if this GolfBuddy handicap can be used in US/Europe too?

Yeah. It is USGA, so it's worldwide.

I have another friend over here too.
We plan to setup the account end of this month or early next.

Bro gabong, I'm also planning to get my handicap. Add me if there's any slots available to do it together for the rate.

Those CR that i have went before throughout the years normally look at

1) understanding of the basic rules
2) ability to advance the ball relatively well and not cause undue delay
3) safety 
5) care for the course

Skill wise.. dun really care IMHO.

Sorry you're a bit late. Gabong & myself had already gotten our Hcp last month. You might want to try to organize & get a few kakis to do it together (it's cheaper in group).

Is the process easy to go thru? Is the CR easy?

No reason to fail you if you have a ok swing and also some basic knowledge of golf etiquette on courses, should be fine. 
Remember to repair divots and pitch marks.

Hi Leoie,

You can call Syaza (96165744) from Golf Buddy and check with her. Three of us did it with them but I can't remember how much we paid. There's no reason not to get your Hcp unless you fail even to launch the ball.
