Solo golf in BKK?

Hi all

Going to BKK in November for a conference and was thinking can play a game or two while I'm there. Since the rest of my group don't golf, I will likely be playing solo. Any nice golf courses to recommend in and around the BKK area? Thanks!

Ive played solo at bangkok golf club. It's a bit far though..

Lakewood is not too bad, 2800THB for weekday game, 3 9s to play and course is usually empty on weekdays and can play alone!!

Coming oct i will going to BKK to play solo. These are the course which i had already booked that allow solo player for your consideration.

1. Muang Kaew Country Club
2. Lam Luk Ka Country Club
3. Thai Country Club (don't allow solo for weekend)

Bro Match84, did you book directly or through an agent?

I'm going there for a few days next week and was looking to play a game on Fri solo as well.
I'm staying near Don Meuang and looking at either Muang Kaew or Lam Luk Ka.

Also thinking how to arrange for transport to the course and back as well.

Bro, i book thru an agent.

The arrangement is pick up at hotel / transfer to golf course / transfer back to hotel after game. The agent will also help to arrange your tee-off timing and payment in advance

I played Best Ocean this week and it is raining almost every night here now.

Solo to 6 balls per flight is OK here.

My solo game is tomorrow at Lam Luk Ka. Called them up to book and I'll take a cab there myself. They will help me call a cab for my return journey.
Sat I'll be playing with a friend at Bangkok Golf Club in the evening.

Thailand golf green fees are just super affordable compared to Singapore.

I only know Pinehurst and Bangkok CC.

How's the caddies there?

The caddies there are good and friendly.
I think the reason why the courses are well maintained is due to their hard work. The greens I played on were superb as the caddies repaired divots when they can see.

If you're adventurous enough, you can just DIY. I did the booking etc and took taxi to Lum Luk Ka on my own. If it's a weekday you can even tee off alone in the morning for a 18, take a lunch break and then play another 9-18 before heading back.

I'm planning a weekday golfing day since I'm there on a conference. Only time I have avail is for PM game as the post conference workshop ends at noon. If I'm staying in town (near Pratunam area), which golf courses are more easily accessible from there and allow 1 ball? Most friends recommended Pinehurst (dunno why) but looking to tee off 2-4pm so when I end and come back I won't get caught in the office rush hour. Prefer recommendations where its not so crowded weekday evenings, prob have dinner there before returning to hotel.

On a related topic, does Thai Airways treat golf bags (in travel bag) as your regular luggage allowance? Planning to bring my clubs there. Thanks! Smile
