| Jason, this is fantastic! You sure got me excited.
Do you think you can arrange a demo session and show us how you achieve these distances with the clubs?
And mind sharing with us your distances with other brand of clubs?

| I think the loft is 39* for the PW. But still quite a feat to hit it 145m. Impressive. | |

| I think the chart is in yards. The forum has been a little slow, thanks for spicing things up. Swinging in excess of 130mph. Deep down, I always wanted to believe "impossible is nothing". | |

| Hey Guys, before we start crucifying Jason, let us all just chill a bit and read his intro "Hello World".
He is currently coaching at Champions Golf at Bukit Timah, so it is safe to assume that he is a certified golf professional.
As what Dking mentioned, if the PW on this set is 39deg, that makes it the same loft as a Titleist AP2 8 iron.
In which case, 145m 8 iron for a Golf Pro is definitely believable.
While I personally do not like to buy overly strongly loft irons (cos my lack of talent means I cannot use the 7 iron onwards and also I need to buy more wedges to cover the gap between the AW and the conventional sand wedge), it is really a case of personal preference. Many Honma sets are also very strongly lofted.

| With such distance, you can burn the Par 5s with 2 Ons. And we are talking about eagles here! | |

| I notice the stock shaft only offered in R and SR flex. Explain why the loft are juice up, probably for the Japanese senior.
If you hit the 5 iron 22 deg at 215m, no wonder your surname is Loong.

| hahahaha chill out guys! I'm not marketing for Akira! Akira Gold Vintage comes with Tour Ad shafts , Made specially for this set of irons , by Akira. My swing on average is 90-115mph depending on which clubs in using. Unfortunately , there is no demo set for These irons. Only 9 Iron, 6 Iron 3 Wood and 5 wood is available for demo. If your really keen , you can drop by Champions golf and give my irons a go! This set of irons comes in Regular and Stiff Regular. I'm using an SR , and I feel that its good enough for me especially with the distances in getting. I was previously using Titleist 695mb with precision Rifle 7 , then moved on to BTR Rifle 6. Most Japanese clubs' got stronger loft on it if you've tried loads of different clubs , you should be able to tell the difference. My driving distance for now is 250-260m however , I'm currently looking for a better driver . I'm trying to achieve 270-280m as an average. | |

| ok i usually don't care if someone wants to publicise his / her abilities. if you say u can hit a 7 iron 185m, good for you.
but in ur case, given that you are a coach, i think the problem is that you will be creating unrealistic expectations in most, if not all, your students. bcos the reality is that 99% of golfers will not be able to hit their 7 iron 185m, be it Akira Gold, Silver or diamond.

| also, promising "immediate" results based on a change of equipment is not something I would expect a golf coach to do | |

| I don't know Jason nor I am sales rep for Akira.
But I do think that changing equipment do have immediate results, but it depends on whether you are fitted correctly or whether the new eqpt suits you or not.
My driver has gain 10m when I changed driver or sometimes less if I changed to a driver that doesn't suit me. I changed shafts and distance increase 5m on each iron. But maybe he is a pro, the gain that he has is much more than average golfers like us.
Sometimes when we read any article, we have to give some benefit of doubts or discount. Best is try it out yourself to find out the truth.
No offence. Cheers. | |
