As said many times, cannot compare SAF with DM.. They inherited different set of players of vast different calibre..

 SAF did not take over a team which had won its 20th League Cup and with Treble players.. When SAF became manager MU was lingering in the mid table..

 When DM took over, he basically inherited a Champion team and on top of that spent $70m on another 2 players, who failed to make significant impact eventually..

For a while, I thinking how come you guys are talking about S League? Somemore got SAF one... Then I realised you are talking abt Sir Alex Ferguson!   

As a realistic United fan, I gave Moyes 3 seasons to turn things around when the season began.  Even SAF took 3 years to put things in order and tabled player succession season after season ~ DM has a BIG pair of shoes to fill when he took over and unfortunately the management now is less tolerant than when SAF assumed the managerial post ~ right place wrong timing I suppose........  Put it simply, SAF was more than just a manager to the players he brought in and groomed, DM did not have the luxury of time to warm the seat he was given ~ DM did not create greatness, he was thrust into it

Again, the footballing sport in UK is no longer as straight forward as compared to 2 decades ago.....

Face it, regardless who the manager is or have been ~ its Man Utd the team that we support, as for DM, thanks for hanging in there while it lasted

at least Giggs will get the support from the senior players in the dressing room, giggs has been ard long enough to command the respect.

I think he would probably apply similar tactics he learned from SAF, hope Man Utd plays well this weekend!

But I'm delighted at how the guys are pulling together... Scholes joined PNeville & NButt to support their buddy at training yesterday.. (note: scholes did not wish to assume a coaching position under DM when he retired)

This shows a lot of solidarity and spirit in the dressing room.. I'm gonna watch the game this weekend... Hahahaa
