Glad to see Tiger shot a good 3rd round...I know many still believe in him, and he has proven many sceptics wrong in the past. Why I raise this question is, because golfing needs support at home. We don't have a top game, even an Asian Tour event now. And more warily, golf courses are being closing down yet no one seems to stand up and object it. In my view, putting buildings in every corner of the country isn't a good thing (we still want to be garden city?). In stead, encouraging more people (family) to spend time at clubs in weekend is much better life style than wandering in shopping centres. What's wrong with the golf courses? Lack of land? You mean we get to constantly build stuff? Does that suggest we'll grow the population more than 6.9MM? So, in that sense, I think golf needs a big star, a strong promoter, at least to help maintain the current status quo, if not generating more excitement in golf here. So I wish Tiger, as in the past, comes back in form and generates the whirlwind again - we still haven't seen him playing a tournament here yet.

Not every average family can afford club membership to have their family spending their weekend in golf clubs.

And how many times people say he has bounced back but truth is that he is fading away? One good round doesn't mean he is back.
If he is really good and dominant as in the past, no one could catch him at all. I still remember at his peak, other pros were just trying for 2nd place whenever Tiger played cos he played to win. I think those days have long gone and I doubt he will be able to dominate again.

I think he had back problem again during the final round. If at only age 38 he already have so many health issues will he be able to continue golfing till 45 or worse, 40. I believe his body is overworked and overstretched.

... and there he goes down the wrong way in the leaderboard.
Bad back? Two-way miss? Age? Something's going on.
Threads like these will always be interesting.

The first 2 days everyone was hitting bad scores. Think most players were trying very hard to adapt to the course conditions and also the green. Not easy for them including Tiger. But he did well on 3rd day though. Must be the pressure on the 4th day that break him... that golf... . If we play our usual game, we sometimes can play well. Throw in a small bet - our game go hay-wired... ... the pro money pot is even bigger... so not surprised the pressure is even higher....
One key player did stand out - Thongchai Jaidee... he did Asian proud by being Top 6th .... ! Not easy to be within top 10... Congrats to him..!

@Ant, they have practice rounds leh, so they should know the course relatively well before the tournament started.

Good point. You are right.. but look like they need more practices..... but Bro TDO is also correct .. weather is also a major factor... and can kill any good game...

@Ant and TDO, agreed. The wind is a huge factor. Imagine Babba has to laid up on a par 3, Brandt Snedeker laid up on a par 4 from 175yds, Zach Johnson hit a 5w 190 yds and hit the same club 295 yds on the very next hole, etc....

Unfortunately in golf there is no 'if'. Every bad thing is more facture than bad luck. Since Tiger is so prawn for injuries, with his unstable swing, his aging...it's hard to believe that he can maintain the edge - he'll just be another top player who occasionally gets a trophy. Pity to see this happening to golf industry, so hope a new star will emerge in the horizon soon.

Maybe TW's mental is now weaker than when he was domineering in the late 90s and 2000's. The young guns no longer have the fear factor in their game and are not intimidated by TW is playing. Just look at Patrick Reed. Is he mocking or showing respect to TW by imitating him in wearing the trademark Red on the final day? And he claim he is Top 5 player. Claiming to be a top 5 and actually being one is a totally different matter. It would do him good to win 2 Majors first before making such claims. Plus he has to be consistent in his game. Winning 3 tournaments between 2013 and 2014 alone is not a good gauge. He has yet to reach the league of TW, PM, VJ, etc... But, I congratulate him for winning the WGC Cadillac. He did not waver under the tremendous pressure.

@TDO, I agree with you on Patrick Reed. Win one touney and talk big. I believe he won't go far. Top 5 my ass. As to the trademark red and black, I guess it's everybody's choice to wear whatever colour they want unless TW managed to really get it trademarked.

@nutty88, you are right on the wearing Red and Black part. No copyright. But TW started it and some are following, believing they will be hot on the final day. Sometimes, it can be hot for the wrong reasons.

Maybe to be a winner you have to believe in yourself. And to believe in self starts from committing it (thus talk big) then delivering it. Remember Tiger #2 - self claimed Ian Poulter?
