Happen to hit the 2010 Yamaha Inpres X Classic 7 iron. My normal instinct would be approximately one club distance gap from my irons like most strong loft irons would. My first hit, ballflight is relatively high, close to my 7 iron. Pretty strong ballflight and the ball just stayed in the air for quite sometime, and it lands. WOOHOO! Probably I happen to like thin or top it but i landed where my 3/4 iron would normally land. So, i hit it several times and it just landed about the same distance everytime. This 7 iron is probably 180m.
When i check the lofts and length, shocking enough, it is 27* and 37.25 inch. But ballflight is still high and price is high!!!
Results: 3 clubs distance gain for me.
The 2nd longest i have ever hit would be Callaway Razr XF.
Now come back to the qns?? The distance come for the loft not the length of the club? Question

IMHO, its both tat combined to make up fr the std distance. Cool
Anything less, go seek a coach.  Wink

Golf is a funny game, golfers always like to give excuses why didn't play well, can't hit far, those are pros, etc.

Familiar lines         Excuses
1. Didn't play well -   Didn't sleep well last night, back ache, new clubs haven't get used to it, etc

2. Can't hit far - physically small size, clubs not good, shaft not good, etc

3. Putting bad - green too fast/slow, green too bumpy, etc.

4. Hit into hazard - didn't concentrate, someone beside distract you, didn't know that was a hazard area, etc.

I believe most of us will fall into areas if such excuses made for all the shortfalls.

So why bother if you are short, there are lots of excuses for being short...  ROFL
