| damn, putter is one of the hardest club to control in ur golf bag. you could have the right length, right lie and right loft but without much of a prastice, your still dead with putting.
for sure the shorter length that you can handle, the better ur putts will be.
did found out also, the total weight of a putter is also very important, it does give you the drop weight on ur hands. can feel the whole hands and arms are stroking.
my putter is about 620grams. 33 inch and a mid size grip size, just love it.

| hi lamts18, my putter total weight is 620gm. and as for S70B, i think a newsport putter is about 450 to 480 grams. i use a 100g weight from balance certified for my putter. | |

| What about launch angle, spin, side spin, true roll? These are your major goals in putter fitting after length lie loft offset? | |

Might be old news for the gurus.... Is this why SC putters have 4deg loft as standard? So as to produce 1deg rise angle? But what if the stroke putter head position is going up i.e adding loft to current head... hmm, I wonder how to capture this.

| Hi nanohenry, welcome here. Firstly, what do you mean by its 'out of alignment' ? Is the lie angle off or the face is bent open/closed? Care to elaborate? 2ndly, Copper putters can mostly be DIYed if its just the finishing thats off. Toothpaste or Autosol(not too much) and a lot of elbow grease does the job pretty well. I always think the patina finish is more appealing than one that is just brightly buffed. If its dings and dents, better to check with US companies like Black Oxide Services if it can be 'rescued'. Lastly, the type of putter that suits u will mostly depend on your stroke. If you have an arcing stroke, a putter with toe hang will suit you more. The more arc, the more toe hang. If you have more of a straight-back-straight-thru kind of stroke, then a face balanced or a mallet putter will suit you better. Best is to check with a clubfitter. There are 2 who will give you a review: Big Fish Golf at Bukit Merah or The Golf Studio at Paya Ubi. You can try both and decide which one suits you better. My take is that sometimes, the oldies are always the gems so that Daiwa club of yours might suit you the best since you have been using it for so long. Drivers and irons can come and go but the oldskool putters always have a special place in my heart. | |

| Dear S70B,
Thank you for your kind information. I itch hand, use a sand paper to sand off the dented portion to made it shinning, Ha Ha ! Result of that you can imagine. This is part of the result of misalignment. I have decided to retire this putter. Will go to one of the recommended club fitter to replace the grip of another one.
Another scrap metal in my store room.....any other use for this piece?

| Hi nanohenry, any pics of the putter? I believe the Daiwa probalance putter series came in several shapes from the heel shafted blades like the 8802/napa to the ping anser style. I am still not clear what you mean by misalignment due to sandpaper to sand off the dented portion. Not sure what grit sandpaper you used but in general I think you'd have to really sand off a lot to mess up the alignment. In general you should be able to "repair" small nicks and dents by using a fine diamond file. If you have pics maybe someone might be interested in it as a refinishing project.... (yeah.. maybe me ) | |

| Sorry bro but your image is kinda small to see if there is anything wrong at all. I dun see much problem with it at all. Mate, I learnt that if your mind is set on the new putters, every 'defect' will be magnified in the old one. Roll well with those. | |

| Agree with S70B.. once it's in your mind that there is something wrong with the putter, you'll never really be able to putt well with it.. enjoy your Odysseys.
Ya, pics are a bit small; btw just curious, how did you know that the putter is copper?
