Legends Golf Johor - DO NOT VISIT!!!

Just got back from a very unhappy golfing trip. Went to Legends this morning, played 4 holes on the Jack Nicklaus Hill course and had to change buggy cos brakes were malfunctioning (imagine going down a steep slope without brakes!!!). 2nd buggy came along, brakes smelled of burnt rubber each time we applied it. Once buggy came to a compete stop, we had to turn the buggy's ignition off and on and back again (sometimes even a few times to get it going). It refused and we had to push buggy downhill to jumpstart the ignition. 

Buggy faulty = nevermind la. it happens.

Next thing pissed me off. Went back to buggy terminal, out came buggy maintenance guy and he drove the 2nd faulty buggy off, while driving off, started cursing us, saying we were 'gila' and all that crap that comes along with it. Bloody fed up, want to complain, ask caddy master for the maintenance guy's name, he still got the cheek to tell me, 'nevermind la mdm, nevermind.' WHICH IDIOT WILL TAKE SOMEONE CURSING YOU LYING DOWN?!?!?! 

Managed to get the GM down to reception to cancel my game and refund green fees. GM called caddy master and marshall in to explain themselves and the maintenance guy's actions, marshall still denies but caddy master honestly replies. OMG. First and last time.

NEVER GOING BACK TO LEGENDS. Ever. Period. 

P.s. I dont mean to shame them, but i just found out after coming back to sg, that im not the only one. Someone else had to push the buggy thru an entire hole. UPHILL!

Haven't gone there for a long time but when I went there I never experienced such bad service... Must have had quite bad turnover

U sure the buggy is not cursed by your flightmate??? 

Anyway first time I played there not too bad except it's very far and we ended up in the wrong hole.

Was there last Sun. My buggy had faulty brakes too but luckily nothing happened throughout the 18 holes. The course was quite badly maintained. The sand in the bunker was hard and dry, and the fairway was also not properly maintained.

Thanks for the headsup.  Its ramadan now, one can find other better and closer courses..

their buggies are not in good condition from the few times i played there but the bad services and attitude of staff is really nog acceptable....

Go Palm Resort la... Just had a very nice game there with bro Enwee and Adrian haha got jacuzzi sumore

Worse is the players got no etiquette at all

Seems like faulty buggy brake is the trend at Lengends this period. Was there 2 weeks back and experience was pretty much the same as previous golfing occasions ~ fine. I reckon it's got to be the fasting that's kicking in since Ramadan month just started.

Agree with the hard fairway and bunker since its now the dry season ~ just takes a fair bit more of focus and accurancy to get the ball on its way. In a couple of months it will be monsoon season and the complain would be that the ground will be muddy and soggy.... If we have been golfing long enough, all these conditions are expected since day 1 granted the rates we're getting for promo packages these days ~ pay peanuts and you get monkeys.....

On the flip side of the coin, boy are we a difficult bunch of customers to please......

Of cos it's u, I seldom played with u but everytime with u shit happened 

One thing that I cannot understand is that there is the club house phone number in the score card why don't they just call the club house and inform them about the faulty buggy. There is no reason why you should push the buggy the entire hole Uphill!!!! all you have to do is call the club house. The other thing I wish to say is that having buggy breaking down during a game does happen to anyone of us whether is in JB, S'pore or anywhere.....so it is just down to luck when it happen and we just have to deal with it peacefully....just don't let it affect your game.

I once encountered buggy issues at Palm Resort too. Brakes werent effective, tyres cldnt grip, buggy wasnt powerful enough. Stopped at an uphill rough area to hit, climbed onto buggy to move off, and ended up sliding backwards into the bunker. Thank god the bunkers there are not like those in mbgc.

Cant expect much of the courses and facilities in malaysia.

I agreed w both bro dtan n TDO. Dun panic or get work up! A hotline call to the clubhse ll get it solved.  
Furthermore havg such a long drive there alr hve our half mood gone w it so just treat it as a unlucky small experience.  
My last game there was June CSSB Open n had similiar experiences w the bad course maintance...I just blamed myself fr being a lousy golfer n try on my next best shot n if nt try next again to prove myself wrong.

I'm ok if buggys breakdown. That's super common. But walao! Kena scold somemore! Where got mood to train?! Plus the course was poorly maintained, heaps of divots and bunkers were just holes with no sand but hardened soil. Palm resort. Anytime.

Agreed with the brake are worn off. That happened to mine buggy when I was there on 7/7/13. However, we had a slow game and did not drive fast.

Had a similar experience at Legends. My buggy broke down and wouldnt move afew steps before dying again. Had to use another buggy to push it. The other thing is the buggies uses fuel instead of battery and the exhaust stinks like hell. Not going back there again.

Actually this problem happened not only in Legends only lah. It could be anywhere but places like JB and Batam are more frequent. In fact I encounter this also in Austin and Ponderosa as well, but recently went Ponderosa, they got some new buggies. As for Austin, our buggy broke down during a tournament and since it's a shot gun start, we ended up in the middle of nowhere. So we just dump the buggy and took one working buggy back with 4 bags and 4 pax. Just bare with it as the game is much cheaper. If anyone want non of the buggies problems had to pay to play locally lor. Anyway members told me before our local clubs buggies are all lease so after a few years they change entire fleet. JB clubs' buggies are bought so after some years and due to lack of maintainence, they can be quite problematic.

As for the rude mechanics thing, maybe he wake up on the wrong side of the bed that day. After you complained, just forget it and enjoyed the game.

It is a pity that Legends have turned out this way. The course is pretty nice actually.

I disagree on this. There should be some minimum service standard even if the price is cheaper. Especially this is a safety issue.

I don't think u can claim insurance for 4 person sharing a buggy if u got into accident

I've also encountered buggy issues at Octville (now Christine). I remember once when I was playing in the flight behing nientsu and their buggy broke down. They had to push it out of the way. 

I've had a couple of not-so-good buggies at Ponderosa too.

I guess it just happens. I'm not condoning the use of sub-standard buggies but it's not out of the ordinary. 

What I don't accept is rude behaviour. If the club is apologetic and does its best to fix the buggy, that's acceptable. But if the club chooses to be pissy about their crappy buggies, they should be reprimanded.
