| In a recent trip to Bangkok, i was bestowed the rare honour of visiting the Endo Manufacturing facilities. It consist of 2 factories set away from one another, one is named Stork where drivers and clubs are made and the other is named Eagle where forged irons are made. i am sorry to report that once inside the plant, no photography is allowed, so here's what are the only 4 photos that we are allowed to capture. its so secretive that even the OEM brands and especially those in development are not allowed in as the plant is continuously churning out the best and the lastest for all the major brands. when i was there, the following brands were being produced..... Nike, Callaway, Titleist VG, Yonex, Cleveland forged, the new S-yard, Epon, Honma, XXIO, Srixon, Mizuno (driver), Cobra AMP, On-Off, Tourstage, Yamaha Impres and many more.....the only brand not seen there are Taylormade and Ping. the factory is not just impressive but their process is organised and the lines are controlled very much like a high precision manufacturing process. everything is done in the factory, from forging, to CNC to plating, polishing and even club assembly. the 2 plants employ over 2400 employees and 70% of the handwork is done by ladies who are much better at the delicate handwork needed. the plant is very Japanese operated and the company's credo is clearly defined at all locations. the staff welfare standard is very high and they even have a football field for staff to enjoy themselves during the lunch break. the staff canteen is outstanding and needless to say the high morale can be clearly felt. here's what i got to keep after the visit..... anyone knows what the gloves are for? it was a great opportunity to see development, manufacturing and quality excellence at its best.......i have been to countless factory but this one is on the topmost shelf. | gloves are for handling anything that we might want to pick up along the visit.....it is only for a closer look and not for keeps.
too bad they do not allow photography, its truly an experience in a life time. the iron that leaves the most impression.....watch out for the new On-Off next year.
The Titlelist VG Driver looks pretty nice too.
their concept is not centred on one person but the process requires teamwork and the precision at which they arrive at the final product is just extraordinary. defective products are scrapped at every level and not at the end of the line. the checks if each line is just impressive and they even have a patrol team going around to identify possible issues before it happens.
now i know why the Legacy Black driver cost so much more.

| i was told even the brands who assigned the production to Endo are not even allowed on the shop floor. we had the first ICG meeting and conference in Bangkok last week. the association with Doc Niimi was the key reason why we got an invite to visit both the Stork and Eagle factories.
the research and development team is based in Japan.
