The way i see it....his only nemesis is himself. He is no longer at his prime and i doubt if he will ever get back there again; but he can and will still win....majors.

And one of the strategies is; try not to lead going into final rounds particularly in majors; coz i find he developes pressure to himself simply due to wanting to win so much. Being too careful and trying to avoid mistakes may actually lead to more uncharacteristic mistakes.

Let's see how he fairs tonight. Who knows another storm and thunder make him the champion after 2 rds. Very Happy

Tiger, -17, leads by 6.

Snedeker, 5 birdies 1 bogey, -4 for the day, climbed back to T2 at -11. I can see why he leads the PGA tour stats in putting.

Watney, T2, -3 for the day, -11.

But, it is now 5:02 and they just sounded the horn to stop play. Play to continue tomorrow. Tiger 12 holes left, Snedeker 5 holes, Watner 11 holes.

If nothing unexpected happens, looks like Tiger will get this one, which gets me looking forward to his major chances this year.

Tiger
Driving Distance 292.0
Driving Accuracy 33.33%
GIR 50.00%
Strokes Gained - Putting 1.508
Putting Average 1.667
Average Distance to Pin 35' 10"
Sand Save Percentage 100.00%

Snedeker
Driving Distance 270.0
Driving Accuracy 72.73%
GIR 69.23%
Strokes Gained - Putting 1.071
Putting Average 1.778
Average Distance to Pin 25' 8"

Watney
Driving Distance 293.5
Driving Accuracy 66.67%
GIR 75.00%
Strokes Gained - Putting 1.935
Putting Average 1.500
Average Distance to Pin 43' 6"
Sand Save Percentage --

Tiger hooked it twice off the tee on the first two holes which explains the driving accuracy of only 33.33%. With GIR of only 50%, yet playing -3 for the day, it seems to indicate his scrambling and short game are coming back.

This link has a video that gives us a good view of his dominance in day 3.

http://espn.go.com/golf/story/_/id/8887920/tiger-woods-6-shots-pga-tour-farmers-insurance-open

Just saw this.

Woods was wild off the tee in the final two hours of a long day, but even that didn't matter. He chipped in from 40 feet for birdie on the fourth, and drilled a shot out of the rough and onto the green for a two-putt birdie on the par-5 sixth as the outcome looked more inevitable.

I'd say, whatever color he was wearing today, it did not do any harm.

Tiger is making birdies and pars from all sorts of trouble.

"His tee shot was so far left on No. 2 that the ball finished in the first cut of rough in the sixth fairway. He still saved par. Woods made a birdie putt of about 10 feet on No. 3, and then wound up well right of the cart path and blocked by a tree on the fourth hole. He carved a punch shot around the tree, safely in front of the green, and his chip banged into the pin and dropped for birdie.

Two holes later, from a mangled lie in the right rough, he smashed a 5-wood that ran onto the green and set up a two-putt birdie."

And here's why he wasn't wearing red.

"Woods didn't bother wearing red Sunday, knowing the tournament wouldn't end until the next day."

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/tiger-woods-control-torrey-pines-011525124--golf.html

Further, consider this.

"Woods was tied for second in driving distance for the week with Dustin Johnson, behind Robert Garrigus. In his third round, he missed three greens, and the longest birdie putt he faced was 6 feet."

His short games have been these few days.....in de final rd, he big hooked first few holes but was lucky enough o have some clearance for 2nd shorts and managed to save par.
The chip-in was classic. I think he did at least one chip-in in his every previous few tourneys.

His drive has improved significantly but when comes to day 4, they seem unsettled. That's him as who we knew he used to be. And because of his strayed tee-shots off the tees that probably made him so good in scrambling. So, the key to winning is really in his short game....particularly putting.

Whether or not he is able to pull together when it matters most, hope he is able to prove it this time. SNedekar is running out of holes. Watney is a few strokes back.

The only pressure is Tiger himself.

If he ever fails this one, I really hate to think his career is over. He needs to win going into The Masters in Apr.
