Trying out for US Open 2013

so for The British open, we have the MM and all go and play to try to get a slot

But why no mention of the US Open?

Is it not open for folks outside of US....or die die must go US before can even try to get a slot?

there were qualifying rounds in Japan and in UK for international entrants

there is a US Open qualifier in Japan last month for Asian Players..and in England for the European Players.
