| There was a point of time when spanking new clubs that comes in to the picture excites me more than the leather on catwoman or some of you know her as Anne Hathaway... Its now has gone to a point where I cant be bothered with new clubs, be it the latest series of R1, 913 or even the Adams Speedline LS ... Lets not even start with putters, wedges or even irons... I love my set up that I don't think anything that comes out next could even compete... or I am at a stage where i really-dun-give-a-shit about new equipment... Am I the anti-golfer ? No.. I definitely am not.... Whenever my buddies changed clubs, I used to be excited and will be like a kid in a candy shop wanting to have the next hit with that new 'weapon' of his... but now, I couldn't care less about whatever shit he carries... All that I am looking forward to is spending the day with my friends , poke fun at each other and then ending up with a round of beer, lunch , laughs and of course the weekly bragging rights.... I have not bought a new club since the end of August which was my Cleveland CG Black and it feels really good.... | |

| It's easy talk for someone who hasn't touched a golf club for awhile. Come back to the sport and talk shop with your usual golf buddies for a round or two and we'll see how you feel thereafter. Right now, your comment is akin to a prisoner who says that he no longer misses the need for physical intimacy (from a woman)... wait'lah... Come out from prison then we'll see... | |

| I wish I had the strength too..
Forums like these, Golfwrx and tourspecgolf just makes me weak..
So far I have not changed my irons since early last year but have changed shafts twice.
The talk of soft forged clubs, distance drivers like Ryoma and new designs etc are difficult not to turn the heads and especially when you are offered with a bargain.

| golfers are a funny breed.....
play bad change equipment, play well they want to reward themselves....change equipment.
our #1 used to fiddle with all kinds of driver shafts, hybrids and putters. it was only since late 2011 that all the nonsense have stopped and he is no longer taking in all the new stuff thrown at him. the results have been pretty good too.
so if you seek perfection in your game, the first thing to do is to cease the search of perfection in your equipment. i know its bad for business but its good for the soul.

| Its a good sign brother begbie. means you getting used to your equipment and starting to play better golf. Or... your stuff already too good. kekeke. its only natural for golfers to blame equipment when they dun play well. First thing everyone questioned when Rory missed the cut was.. Did equipment change have anything to do with it? Everyone will take a little time to get used to whatever new equipment they use. I always hear the same thing when i'm at the DEN. "you think u robot ah?!" hahaha. we all have our good and bad days. | |

| bro begbie, maybe you have reach a point where nothing else your mind see is better than what you have on hand at least for this moment....This is human beings, we set our goal on something and where we feel we aready got the best, we tends to be more selective and not so willing to accept something else... One example: you are using a miura iron, if some irons which may be of better technology or claim better, you tends to compare and since your heart still fall for your present set. It will be difficult for you to change unless the same CB501 have a new release of CB502 which looks and performs better... | |

| Chien - This is exactly what I mean, I am starting to be very selective, If I dun get the Ryoma, most probably I wont even think of getting a new driver...
Techno - Maybe you are right, I am in golf prison right now, its been almost 3 out of the last 6 mths I have spent on travelling and perhaps being the reason why I am not interested in buying anything...Lets see after I make my escape from alcatraz...
And true enough, I love my Miuras.. Im sure there are many other better clubs out there that can perform the same or even much better than them, but damn they are just so beautiful just to look at....
Dun get me wrong, my game has not improved shit or became any better of late... in fact I have basically f%^k up my game from 100m in as I hv lost total feel of my short game... but I am concious at this point and I know regardless what club I pick up next, it wont make any difference to my game.
So yeah, I reckon its time I pick up my game with the clubs I already have, perhaps tweak with the shafts or grip or weight but hell, these are gorgeous clubs , I love them so much and couldn't bear to part with them..
The only pet peeve I have is with the driver, I may do what Derek did on his, cut it short and add weight to the head... The CG Black is too damn long ..
@DGman- I have to say, the mitsubishi B series is gorgeous....!!

Dun get me wrong bro, I still like to read or talk about golf gears... in fact, it'd be nice if GR has a monthly or fortnightly write up on the latest golf gears on local demos being tested.. just like the one Asahi did on the Razrs... We already have many contributors who could put their club review writing skills to the test... | |
