| So Rory's going to Nike is the biggest news of the day...Nike was rumored to pay a whole lot of money to have him. Couple of smaller names like Watney and Stanley and N Seung Yul have moved to Nike camp as well.
I am curious if all these big signings will affect our selections of golf equipment and apparel. Will paying tons of money for big names drive the sales?
Appreciate your vote and thoughts
thanks! | |

| I won't be affected by defection, play only what I like or can afford! But this year might be changing driver. So interested in the Covert VRS Tour driver, but it's only consideration. Looking at 913,Fit Xtreme and maybe TM RBZ Stage 2 too! Key consideration is bang for bucks! | |

| Me wont change anything too.... Am already struggling with all the changes.. But I hope Rory will bring out some better designed and quality golf shoes... Addidas, FJ and perhaps Puma are miles ahead of Nike in this product line.. | |

| Driver is really the only thing I would look into. Would like to give it a go. | |

| @chien, good points on the shoes. Its ironic that theyre first and foremost, a sport shoe company. I owned two nike shoes and they were inferior to the FJs. | |

| Thanks pushslice. The results from this poll will be very interesting for understanding the pull factors that entice consumers, or more specifically, the golfing consumer to part with their golf budget each year. Will Nike be able to take a large chunk of marketshare from the leaders? Their line this year looks really slick. My guess is Nike will take marketshare this year, but not enough to challenge the incumbents. Over time things will change though, and they do have Rory for a long time don't they? | |

| Definitely not. Nike has still some way to go in terms of their equipment. They should have put all that money into bettering their equipment. | |

Can't agree more! Have used Nike foot wear before and honestly they are not up to mark compared with the other leading brands. After the Nike experience, I would prefer Adidas or FJ I always tell my friends that only Tiger can use Nike clubs, cuz he can do without any help!

| Definitely not. Am in camp since pickup golf. But have to agree that Nike need to create something more special for Rory. Just like Orange for Rickie, Pink for Bubba... | |

| They did Vr for Tiger....maybe some type of Victory green line for Rory. Maybe that occurs after a few years and he starts to delve into product design like El Tigre'.. | |

I always tell my friends that only Tiger can use Nike clubs, cuz he can do without any help! Nike shoes tend to split at the front/side if one does not wear them for sometime. I have given up on Nike golf shoes but I might revisit the Nike TW13 sneaker like golf shoes.

| Had the same problem with Nike golf shoes (couple of pairs, not just one pair)
Guess I'm not alone. I even bought the top of the range TW line of shoes, same problem
FJ and Adidas shoes for me anytime.
These pros get a new pair for free. For us mortals, their built quality gotta be better, else it's quite hard to part money for them

| Nope. I like white & have already gone white. Even if Nike does white, I don't like their dog-collar shaft adaptor. | |

| I don't care what Rory plays. He's a great golfer. The rest is secondary. | |

| Only TW! Regardless who Nike signs, TW is the cornerstone of golf. | |

I have given up on Nike golf shoes but I might revisit the Nike TW13 sneaker like golf shoes. Just to share on this guys... Nike make their shoes using certain polyurethane foam material.. This material is compressed and wraps around the air bag to form what you call, the mid sole of the shoe. This is also the part which makes you feel bouncy and soft when you pound on the shoes while running... Most if not all the time, the shoes are shipped and stored in the warehouses here in Singapore, pending orders or delivery... Sad to say, this mid sole composite is still not the most lasting material to withstand the humidity of our climate.. Together with the temperature of the storage in warehouses, the mid sole has the tendency, though not admitted by the company, to disintegrate over time... How do I managed this? I usually buy the latest models, with little chance of the shoes stored over long period in the warehouse.. Also, I don't keep my shoes in shoeboxes, but either in the open or cabinets not directly in the sun.. Hope it helps guys... Gong Xi Fa Cai !

| I would rather go to what im comfortable with and play the game my best. Its not about money. Its about how well he'll do to make his position steady. I wont just experiment and just crash. #justmyopinion | |
