| Its a lazy weekend and I was cleaning my clubs and realised that my old Acushnet brass bulleyes got tanished. A few spots of blue mold, zinc oxide I guess, since Brass is copper and zinc compound. I have read a few ways of cleaning it up 1) The most familiar is to use Brasso and give it a good rub 2) Soak in coke (the soda) 3) use vinegar and salt solution to soak for 20min. Any one of you guys have any good proven recommendation to bring out the old shine? Pls share | |

| Bro I use option 1 for my gun metal putter
Found on the net 2 is a hoax
Advise against 3 salt is close friend of rust
My 2 cents worth | |

| Hi Bro RIght hook
Hows the 5003 man?????????
I am using method 3 now. ten min ago. The effect is immediate after 30 secs! The original brass light bronze color is starting to show. I would soak it up to 20min. DUn worry abt the rust myth bro. You would want to use the acid/salt method on stainless steel or steel for the matter since Fe + O = rust.
Bronze/Brass is copper and zinc, so no rust. But might be stripped to be oxidised to ZnO again la. | |

| Definitively brassol will do the trick. Have tried method 2 (soaking in coke), but need to monitor the timing and have that coke scent after that. | |
