Do we actually need to do spine alignment for the stock shaft?

I asked this qns to a club fitter before, he told me unless your hcp is single, beginner do not feel the difference at all.

my personal opinion is that unless you really really really love the stock shaft, it might be more worthwhile to pay a little more to get properly fit for an aftermarket shaft

spine alignment for any shaft is not going to magically send the ball straight, or reduce left-right dispersion by a large amount ...

My personal experience is that it made the club feel slightly more stable during the swing (perhaps psychological) but just spine alignment alone did not really help me get more consistent results with my driver ... probably because the variation caused by my (SHIT) swing was a lot more than whatever variation was being caused by the equipment

At least if you get fitted for a basic aftermarket shaft (does not need to be too expensive), you then know that you can't blame the equipment anymore, then you can set your mind at ease AND commit to improving yourself (i.e. your swing, your tempo, your focus ... etc) for more consistency

I don't think you 'need' to spine a stock shaft, esp if you are just a recreational golfer. if anything, the main benefit is some added confidence. as for aftermarket shafts, either they are already spined by the manufacturer or the clubfitter may throw it in for free with the purchase of the shaft

Personal preferrence I guess? For me I went to a fitter near me to see what was wrong with my r11s stock shaft as it was giving me slices. Whereas my old driver was giving me dead straight shots. So he took a look, tinkered with it for a bit then adjusted the adapter or smth, then my shots were back on track. He told me he spined it. And didn't charge me for it. I'm grateful. But I can say one thing. TM stock shafts are the shittiest i ever played..

If possible I will change to a aftermarket one soon.

I need a midsized grip. Too used to my midsized one. I hook and sky this driver quite alot.. weird.. maybe cuz of heavier head la. If I don't get used to it, gotta tee lower n see what happens... I love tm for the innovation but the shaft n grip always sucks so bad it pisses me off.

well default TM shaft are normally very light the J-spec shaft can be as light as 39g. If yours a US Spec should be around 50-55g. U can increase the wt of your shaft.
