these wedges are raw and once it goes through the plating and satin finish, it should look the same as prototype I in terms of finishing....

the Final Prototype ( or Prototype II) wedges are in for final testing as well as submission to the R&A and USGA for certification of conformity.

just like to share the key changes with those who have shown interest as well as ordered them in advance. the cut off date for pre-orders will be 20 Oct 2012 and once that order close the pre-order price will not be repeated as additional tooling and milling cost have push the price quite a few notches upwards.

@DGman - the weight ports are left raw. Will it rust over time since dirt will also accumulate there.

the milled marks are left unpolished but its chrome then satin finished so no chance of rusting in the ports. the raw finish is a request from the thai wedge testers and critic team and i agree with their comments. there is a load more contrast and it does look more menacing.

if one line up the wedge at address, it sits pretty similar to the fourteen with an exception...



the BFG wedge sole are bevelled at the leading edge.

so without much ado....here're the final article....

the unique and competitive line ups VX1 (for 50 - 52 degrees), VX5 (for 54 to 56 degrees) and VX9 (for 58 to 60 degrees)





the leading edge........mill marks around the hosel allows the golfer to feel the finesse and finishing of the markings unlike cast markngs.



from the front, the hosel is tapered and flush to the edge unlike Proto 1.



this is how it will sit...also note that the milled face on VX5 and VX9 only.



the devil is in the details....





finally my favourite shot....this is the testimony of the quality of mill and detailing that went into the production of these fishy wedges...without precision milling, we would not be able to get this quality at the price we are hoping to offer.



lastly.....the top line has been refined and thin out .2 mm from the previous.

actually its designed in Singapore, Cad-cam and tooling design in Taiwan, Made in China and assembled in Singapore or place of purchase.

its made from 1020 forged blanks and milled to final form, QC picked, hand polished and sent for chrome and satin finished.

the amount of milling on these babies are more than most putters out there. a huge chunk of the cost was appropriated to milling and machine time.

The 2 holes behind is to add weight?

as mentioned on page 1, its weight relief....meaning taking out weigh and not increasing weight. BFG products are meant to be simple and we will not have complicated components in our products.

at the same time, we want to make a distinction from other wedges out there. so one look at address, you will know its a fishy wedge.

there are ways to add weight but adding more than 6 g on the hosel is as max as we will recommend. otherwise you will shift the sweet spot nearer to the hosel.

however in our production we do have differing weights for those who prefer more swing weight.

Manage to flicked one from the Den while 'THE MAN' was busy .... Ooops ! Had wedge shafted with a normal KBS shaft on a 51 degree. But karma hit me on saturday... haizz.

On the 3rd hole island course par 5... on the 3rd shot (60 m out) ... time to use the new wedge, open up the face and half wedge it... nip it perfectly ... to the pin... landed one meter before the pin ... one hop to a gimme for birdie..... but its not to be..... the freaking back spin after the hop, took the ball 5 m backwards before the pitch mark....%^^%#$% ... miss the birdie !

I am going to the Den to confess and pay up ... haizzz

Will these be available at the PGA Show in January?

I'm not as good as and68low, and I use cheap hard golf balls, so I didn't experience the 5m backspin.

But I tried the wedge on the course yesterday on a couple of holes;
Then I told Eric to build me one...
