Base on current streak of Adam Scotts and TW, your "dream pairing" may well come true on Day 4, probably last flight and decider. Would be interesting!

| OMG! Scott reached the PAR5 11th hole in two ... 3 days in a row he made the green in two for the same hole ... Impressive ... He is on form, man! | |

| Scott birdie on 11th to move to 12 under ... Tiger is lurking ...
Snedeker dropped another shot to 6 under ... Els dropped a shot to 4 under ...

| a mistake is a mistake is a mistake. he indicated a better score at 1 hole.. and wrote down a worse score (a bogey when it should be a par) for another hole. The resulting total is the same.. don tink he's trying to gain any advantage. Such mistakes do happen to pros.. they were showing some history of the tournament where a few years back, a player was penalised halfway thru' when the officials realised he has more than 14 clubs in his bag. Now, shouldn't that be a basic thing for a player?. but still.. sh** happens and mistakes are made.
my sympathy to MM.. but im sure the experience he gained is invaluable (albeit at a very high price).

| When the scores are live, one cannot assume that your playing partner would have recorded your actual score. And the player has the onus to check his own score card before signing them. its unfortunate that he should have spent a minute more going through the card before signing it.
he knew he have missed the cut after the first day and was trying to make amends to conquer his nerves on the 2nd day. he played to his best on day 2 but that mistake cost him and i am sure he is not feeling good about it.
until we compete in the highest level of the game, we can never understand the awe of the occasion. some years back when Liang Wen Chong played his first masters and on introduction at the first tee-box, he frozed and just stood there with stage fright. a fellow competitor had to walked over and calm him down.
its normal for people to take ownership when there is glory and criticise when things do not turn out well. MM is still a singaporean who started playing golf while caddying from the age of 9. he worked his way to where he is today and i am sure, he will continue to journey further. i am sure he will learn from this experience that your destiny is literally in your own hands.

PS whoever wins the Open deserves a standing ovation, its competition and showing of will and ability to conquer the course at the highest level. May the best man win.

| I agree
LYTHAM & ST. ANNES -- He's a lovely lad, one of the most genuinely-likeable souls in all of professional golf, but still, many are those who will find it all but impossible to root for Adam Scott in this 141st Open Championship at sodden Royal Lytham. It's the combination of broom-handle putter and boorish caddie that will have those dissenters cheering for anyone and everyone else in the race to be hailed the "champion golfer of the year" come Sunday evening. The putter is too long and is, according to three-time major champion, Ernie Els, tantamount to "cheating." And the caddie; well, let's just say his name is routinely prefixed in these parts with the word "despicable."

| Pro's don't write the score after every hole we normally wait 4 or 5 holes then write them in. On the first tee we swap cards so the playing partner writes my score, then on his card I write his score and mine so afterwards we tally up.
As Cyrano said the total was right but the order wrong, had he been in contention or even making cut I am sure he would have done a hole by hole check.
You can bet your life tho that it was unintentional.

Schoolboy error yes... intent to cheat, no... its already televised and open to public scrutiny , I do not see why anyone with the right mind will try to cheat scores esp when they are 6 strokes behind the cut line. Lets give the man a break rather than going hard on him. I am sure he has learnt his lesson and moved on...

| Score was in live telecast and open through media. How to cheap ? You think one playing in a weekend and try to hide the score card and adjust their score accordingly ?
I wish MM would able to play his 1st round like his 2nd round. However, as a Singaporean, you have my support and thanks for trying hard and made us proud.

| MM did his very best in the second round ! Kudos goes to him. Its unfortunate he did not make the cut but I still believe he still have it in him. He is there living his dream and we are *ehem* here, the best thing we could do is to give our upmost support to our countrymen! Btw, he still had a good game than Phil Mickelson & Kevin Na.

PGA live socre
double click name to see actual scores.
its a mistake that ****** has made by not checking the facts....just like MM has made in not going through the score card in detail. he only looked at the final score of 72.
you can choose to criticise or sympathise, its a free world but just remember to be responsible.

| Amateurs may be looking at birdies, pars or even eagles rather than actual score ... that may makes their game look better rather than looking at gross scores (especially if they are playing badly)... so as to further inflate their already gargantuous egos... and to defend their horrible game... (I know coz i am guilty of such shennanigans at times)
But for professionals to do the same without any effect on the gross score? just to claim an extra birdie ? Seriously? A bit wobbly on the legs if you ask me.

Unfortunately the pairing of Tiger with Scott in the final round which most would be looking forward to would not materialize ... Scott pairing with GMAC and Tiger pairing with Snedeker ...

| Suddenly all the professors and pundits come out... Tlheng seem to loathe positivities shown to mm before the open, maybe he is just not a fan. some people in the forum just like to bash on anything zen, when the opportunity arise no matter how ridiculous. .dun need to beat around the bush. Typical day in gr la Just a miss cut...same as Phil Mickelson and Angel Cabrera. it's sports. Have a nice day...good Sunday today. | |

Yeo, this is the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard...once again, your ignorance comes shining through.......these guys are professional golfers and unless played on the same day, playing 6 rounds of golf is nothing to these guys and will hardly cause fatigue.....MM is not your average out-of-shape weekend golfer.....
are you also saying that Sean Foley doesn't give Tiger swing tips during a tournament week?!?!.....do hank haney, butch harmon, dave stockton, dave pelz, et al, all go on vacation whenever there's a tournament since pros don't need coaching just before a tournament.......i've seen some stupid comments made by some very ignorant people before and some ignorant comments made by some very stupid people before and you fit in both categories......
this is bashing for bashing's sake alone......how proud you must be...!!!

| just play a round of golf with the man himself.... go see the person who he is
then u decide whether he knows what is birdie or par or bogey....
as for preparaton, he shd know what he is doing....
btw, practise rounds are not the same as actual 18 holes...
and i am pretty sure MM will take a lot from this experience n come back a better man...
some analogy....
i support my spurs since the Hoddle days.... its been 10 over years since they put a decent team, but i never give up on them nor i change my allegience, i stuck with them, hoping they will come good.....
that is the thing.... "hope"
we need to give "hope", its a powerful tool to one when one know there are ppl who harbours "hope" for him/her..... just like supportive parents to their apsiring child
dun give away that "hope"......

But v glad to see the comments about posting responsibly and constructive. I'm just skeptical frankly. But as Slinger says.... must still have hope.
