Thought I would chip in my experience and two cents. *LONG POST*
Tee time - Monday, 25 November 7.30am.
Getting there :- Driving from Mai Khao (up North near the airport) to Red Mountain took 60mins (excluding 15mins detour GPS took us up another mountain drive). Setting off at 6am was very enjoyable drive - skies were turning lit, traffic minimal and city stirring just before awakening. Except road humps you had to slow down to 60km/h, the rest of the drive was gentle bends that allowed 100km/h or so.
The Clubhouse :- The bag drop off, registration, pro-shop, restaurant and changing rooms were all housed within a cosy facility. A short 40-50m away would be where you parked your car. I've attached a video that gives 360' view from the clubhouse (apologies for the shaky camera work).
Design of the course :- I really enjoyed the unique features and preservation areas of the course; much of the tin mining era were incorporated in the design. The layout and slopes were fun for me, I broke my personal bunker record of 10 (aim fairway find bunker, aim bunker find bunker... layup also find bunker). Having said that, I had a general feeling the course was not very long (not verified), so long as there was sensible club selection (playing with the elevation), I had opportunities to make par and birdie despite being short hitting.
Course Rating - Red 70.4, White 68.4, Yellow 70.4, Black 72.7 Slope Rating - Red 123, White 121, Yellow 128, Black 136.
Notable Holes :- Hole 1 Par 4 Looked daunting from the clubhouse but was very manageable (first hole usually sets the tone of my game) - found bunker and got a par. Signature Hole 17 Par 3 Push/ draw, found bunker and double bogeyed with atrocious putting.
Greens :- Immaculate conditions.
Caddy :- Sporting, convincing (was right in my club selection, I listened 50%) and good team player.
Food & Drinks :- BYO alcohol allowed (or at least nobody stopped us), they also gave us a coupon to redeem a free beer from the restaurant. Lunch at the clubhouse restaurant was yummy.
Email Reservation :- Bad. Total of 12 emails back and forth - replies were sketchy and had to follow-up 3 times to remind them to reply. Not able to proceed with online reservation because I did not have a full flight (as advised in writing).
Pricing :- They had since increased their green fees, effective 1 Nov 2013. Refer to attached price list. Unless you were to form a full flight to enjoy the online reservation specials peak/ off peak, I paid THB 5,800 green fees + THB 350 caddy + THB 700 buggy which approximates SGD 225 + SGD 14 + SGD 27 = SGD 266. Hi! Your cost includes transfer from where you are staying or is it only green fees? I am playing there next Monday.

| Green fees THB 5,800 / SGD 225.
Total cost of SGD 266 included green fees + caddy tips + buggy rental.
I self-drove.
Booking directly with Red Mountain only gives you the game. If you are not driving, your hotel or golf agent will tend to include round transfer.

| Hi guys, Played a game at Red Mountain last weekend. Thought I'd share some info and pics. Booked through agent; Package includes green fee + caddy fee + Round trip transfer (hotel - golf course - hotel) = 5,500 Baht Buggy fee = 700 Baht Caddy Tip = 500 Baht Total = 6,700 Baht ( S$265 ) The course was well maintained, but greens were tough. I couldn't get a feel of the green speed, especially when deciding whether the putt is up slope or down slope. I had a terrible day putting. Below are the pics. View from clubhouse outside locker room 18th hole. Again from the locker room. You can see the 18th and 1st hole. Buggy area This was my second time playing there. Overall, it was still an enjoyable course, though the "wow" factor wasn't as much. But I would still recommend you play there once if you are golfing in Phuket. Cheers! | |

| there's a current promotion. for 2 golfers, 3 days 2 nights stay at Tinidee Hotel and 2 rounds of game for each golfer. 1 at loch palm and 1 at red mountain. THB17,160. these 2 golf courses are side by side to each other and Tinidee is in the middle. i thought loch palm is very well designed and condition is great. they have this driving range that allows hitting balls into the lake where the course is built around. back nine is much more interesting. favourite is hole 11. walking down the fairway after teeing off is like walking into an awesome stadium... but the walk up towards the steep slope to reach the green kills... | |
