| Just got my 1st birdie EVER in my first 4 months of intense golfing today!
First 9 holes sulks = 55.....Second 9 holes were not tooo bad....got the first birdie there...
Feeling was like ")*(&*^^^^^^" in a goooood way...my flight buddies were like more estactic than me, i was acting cool outside but was like wTf....the rest of the 9 holes were played with more confidence!
Lesson learned for me = play with confident (even though sometimes the ball doesnt react to the way you want, still in contention, Persevere)...and it shows me it can be achieved!
How you guys feel when you get your first birdie? Do share your moments and what you learned if possible..
*still new to golf*

| I second bro Slicer's experience of screwing up the next hole. That's why - save your birdie ball don't use on the next hole.
I've only had two birdies in my 1.5 years golfing. First one was RCC lake course - short par 4 (can't remember which hole but if you've played there you probably will know which one 270 something meters). I'm a short-hitter and a terrible slicer so my ball went to the pond on the right side of the fairway. Dropped a ball outside the hazard, pulled an 8 iron for 70 meter blind shot. Shot the ball, saw it flying to the green. Ran to the green to see where my ball was and nowhere to be seen - so I thought it went to the water behind the green. I looked around if I can fish my beautiful ball so I won't lose two balls in a hole, until one of flightmate told me my ball was in the hole.. Talk about blur. The feeling? I'm just happy I haven't lost two balls in a hole. Pretty hard to procreate losing two balls.....

| Congrats!!!!!! only after 4 months.
It took me 2.5yrs to get not only my first birdie, but also my second birdie on the same day. That seems like a distant past.......

| @calvinong: Congrats!!! More birdies will come your way then after that the eagles will come. @DWK: 2 birdies only so far.... sure or not... or do you mean 2 birdies in one game??? Forgot how my feeling was when I got my first birdie or even eagle for the matter of fact as that was more than 14 years ago... but I do remember the feeling the 1st time my ball hit a bird (no... not bird as those in the pics in Bro @Winston's post...it was a real bird and I did give it a proper burial) as well as a real golfer (hit him in the back 2 adj. fairways away) | |

| I have a very berry fond memory of my first birdie.
Venue: Cant really recall where.....think either seletar or OCC
Par: definitely not par 3
Details:
I whack with driver off the tee. then 2nd shot...cant remember much...but 3rd shot, I manage to execute the 4K shot....and I putt fm a distance fm the hole.
Feeling: Awesome....coz neber tot at that early stage of my golfing maturity I can achieve this great feat wich I fondly recall till now

| My first was at Legend. That is a Par 5. I have played with my friends who are all very good player. I just aimming for every hole try to not more than +1. At that hole, my 3rd shot landed at front of green. Use my putter try to put near hole, but the ball drop into hole. I can't remeber the feeling, but the ball I still keep somewhere at home. Like TDO say, now every time get birdie still very happy like the first one. | |

| When I first picked up the game 3 years ago, i thought that I would record my first par, first birdie, first time breaking 100, 90, 80 ... etc
Now, I can't remember anything about my first birdie, when it was, where it was or anything about it. The same goes for first time breaking 100 and 90, an emotional rush at the time, now completely forgotten.
In reflection, that is a bit sad, cos they would have made great memories.
On hindsight, perhaps I should have kept a little golf diary and recorded these events as they happened, instead of procrastinating and losing the memories forever.
Ah well ... can always try to make new memories i guess

| I await my first eagle ... dont remember my first birdie as it was almost 20 yrs ago and there have been many since with 4 being the highest in a single round... However, I do remember the first time I broke 80 and my first tournament win (both happening earlier this year)! | |

| First birdie was 8 years ago in Germany. Par 3 with a big pond in front of the green and some Germans waiting for me to hit before they cross to another tee box.
Tee shot to 3 meters of the flag, I was already happy, because I used to slice a lot those days (still do...). They crossed, my buddy and me walked to the green. I putted and made birdie, the Germans saw it and were mumbling things like, damn that guy can play. After that my buddy made an easy par with 2 putts.
Both of us walked off the green with the feeling that we could conquer the world! Rest of the round probably lost 8 or 9 balls in the woods and water ;-)

| Ha. quite interesting topic
My first birdie(s) came in a game in Abu Dhabi after I picked up the game for two years.
I hit 2 consecutive birdies in the back nine and both from par 3's.
I have yet to hit two birdies in a game since....ironically.
