| Hi all Have been staying here for almost 4 weeks and so far, I have played 2 courses, will be playing my 3rd game on a different course this coming weekend. Just wanna share some of the picture I have taken so far, and will post some more after my 3rd game 1st Game : Townsend Ridge Golf Course (public course) 1. The clubhouse : Very simple nice house, you can find pro shop, small area selling food, basic toilet. 2. The Buggy area, right outside the clubhouse 3. The 1st Tee The fairway is not very wide and it gets narrower from there The green is pretty firm and speed is not fast The fairway is really tight...this is taken from 4th Hole tee box Another super tight fairway with a dogleg right, taken on 11th Hole tee box 18th Hole is my favourite, the view is nice, the clubhouse is at the far left side and after you are done, you can drive the buggy all the way to your car, clean up your club, put everything inside your car before return back the buggy...that is something you cannot find in Singapore I try not to post up too many photos. Later tonight, I will post some other photos for the 2nd course I had played. Enjoy !! | |

| 2nd Game : Red Tail Golf Course tee off : 6am Website : http://www.redtailgolf.net/index.html Cost : USD79, including buggy and unlimited range ball practise The clubhouse : seem like most of the course's clubhouse are quite similar The buggy area Driving range, free balls to warm up before tee off At hole 1, Par 4, immediately are you welcome by a dogleg right, this was taken from the tee box At hole 2, Par 5, you will face a dogleg right and going down further, a much narrower fairway When I think this is the worst, i was wrong, this is just the beginning, look at hole 3, par 3, 170 yards Then another Par 5, 520 yard, dogleg left waiting for me.....lifted tee box..very clear view of the fairway Something special about this course : drinking water supply just beside the yardage sign, and you can find the drinking water every interval of 2 to 3 holes after you barely survivie the front 9, going to back 9, you would need to drive pass this nice little wooden bridge...i quickly got down from my buggy and took a photo before anyone come up behind me...keke Hole 11, Par 3...i just tell myself, either do or die... this is where my ball landed and looking back to the tee box from the green : it's like a cliff and that is where the tee box located Hole 17, Par 4, 385 yards...it sounds not long...BUT !!!!! look at the bunker !!! the tee box was lifted and you really need to carry across the bumker to be safe Finally you finish the 18 hole, there is a greeting sign And they also allow us to drive to our car to clean and pack our stuff...cool !! comparing Townsend Ridge and Red Tail, I enjoy playing Red Tail more. Red Tail was once rate as The Best Public Course in US. I will be playing The Ledge Golf Course this coming Sunday, will post up some pictures of that course sometime next week. have a nice week !! | |

| very nice. I had a similar experience playing in US public courses recently (West Coast). One quick question - Did you play 1-ball for both courses? I suppose it's easier to play 1-ball at 6am?
I tried to play 1-ball but in the end was paired up with 3 other locals, which was fine coz they were a real friendly bunch.

| Great Pictures. Looks like you are having a blast. I remember Townsend Ridge. My old roommate from Florida was the head pro there a few years back. Played it twice and actually shot a few under par and had the course record for a bit. Tough track, narrow and challenging, lots of trouble.
Never played RedTail but it looks quite nice.
Looking forward to seeing where your third round is.

Dan Hi Dan Yes, townsend ridge is challenging, finding the fairway is tough. Red Tail is a great course, if you have a chance, you should try it. My next game will be on The Ledges, York, ME. This course is highly recommended by my co-worker here in US...and i got a good deal from Golfnow.com Will post up some picture sometime next week.
