[Pic Intensive] Golfing in Zhuhai, China

Dear GRians,

I had asked in GR before my work trip (of course, extended for golfing) on golfing in Zhuhai, China. However, could not find much info. So, thought I should contribute when I am back. So here it goes... ...

On average, about RMB1,200 for the green fee (included caddy and buggy) and caddy tips on weekends and RMB1,000 on weekdays.


DAY 1 - Yao Lang
A scenic course, engineered around a big lake surrounded by mountains after mountains. Well maintained. Played on an early Sat morning tee-off 7am. No crowd. Finished game in less than 4 hrs. Very nice cool weather!

DAY 2 - Lakewood
Relatively flat course surrounded by mountains. Not many water hazzards in play. Did not leave much impression on me. =p

DAY 3 - Zhongshan Agile 'B' Course
Very nice course! Must play here. Fairways relatively flat and wide but very long. Par 4 exceeds 400 yards. Numerous bunkers positioned around green to penalize wayward shot. Risk-reward try. Once in bunker, very soft sand, likely buried lie.  


Hole 1 par 4. 410 yards.


Hole 2 par 3. 160 yards thereabout.


Hole 4 par 5. 520 yards thereabout. Pretty tough hole. Fairway is tight. Second shot need to clear water. 2 tier green surrounded by water on 3 sides (pic below).





Most holes greens are surrounded by many, many, BIG bunkers.

DAY 4 - Orient
Link course. Built on reclaimed land. Darn challenging with super strong wind and fairways lined along water. There was one shot I left about 60m to pin. I took out a Sand wedge and my caddy told me to use Pitching which I hit about 100-110m. Luckily, I no pride and listened to her. It was a good contact. Ball flew way passed the pin and the wind brought it back 40m to land on the green, 2m away from pin. This one I also gave BIG tips. =p

Tee off almost same view. Narrow fairway and water, water.




This was the first par 5 hole we all had to use irons all the way cause each landing area was like an island fairway. Once your ball rolled too much, feed fishes.

Strange, how come you also asked me this question? Did not take photo of caddy leh. Thought golf course more relevant. Mostly all covered up anyway. Like the last photo.

Si mi standard? Ability to read line or be read? Heard Hua Hin golf courses very nice!

the 160 yard par 3 from the Zhongshan Agile 'B' Course reminds me a bit of Augusta's hole 12!  looks like you had a good time!!

Thanks all! This forum has been good to me. Gave me chance to volunteer at Serapong and TMCC and get free game. Helped me let go of equipments to maintain home harmony and order. More importantly, made great friendships and company for common interest! So, just giving back a little of what I could. 

Yes, certainly a memorable time golfing with great companionship. The beer, laughter and heartache of I could have won that hole. Hahaha.

Standard of female Caddies and Hosts including waitresses at restuarant & Halfway Houses at Cengkeran Golf Course in JKT are very high ...

I heard the female caddies there attend aerobic classes conducted by the club once a week ...

very nice pics! they really show the condition of the course clearly..which looks very good too! hope one day have a chance to play in China too..though a lil more ex than our neighbours..haha
